Prada S/S 2017 Milan

PRADA!!!! SHE'S BACK!

This is honestly the best Prada collection in years - and not only that but I feel like Miuccia just took back her role as leader of the pack, here.

I tuned in to the livestream, and I was bracing myself for another season of over-styled, over-designed, gimmicky accessories, and poorly cast child models. Boy was I wrong! I was thinking to myself, "she'd have to open the show with a plain black slip dress with no styling this time around in order to do something worthwhile." And she did JUST THAT.

What feels like the first time in years I am seeing clever, fun, attractive grown up fashion on women looking fresh, clean and genuinely gorgeous. It's a thrill!

And Miuccia must have known it, too. The way she came out and took a real bow and clapped! She never does anything more than a peek from out behind the entrance. Bravo!! Truly!

You said everything I wanted to. I really have nothing to add.

Fresh, clean and genuinely gorgeous sums it up perfectly.

And I'm a sucker for ostrich feathers. I mean, how chic would it be to pair one of those skirts trimmed in ostrich with a simple cami or blouse.

Definitely a return to form for her.

First Prada collection I enjoyed in a very long time. Not as pretentious as she usually is and not just weird for the sake of being weird. I liked the cleaner lines and the somewhat stripped-down styling. A nice and welcomed change from what we see in every other collection these days. The shoes though... absolutely hideous. Every single pair.

PS. I loved the runway and the music.

It's so modern, fresh, and slightly nostalgic. It reminds me of the early 2000's Prada, an era that she defined. I'm obsessed with that time period, the movies, the music, and the pop culture. There is certainly more than one woman here. We have the professional, the b*tch teenager, a sophisticated lady, and an eccentric. It all works together to form a cohesive vision. It's not complicated and that's perfectly fine. She doesn't have to be the intellectual all the time.

Such an amazing collection, very Prada ( this feeling was lost with her two previous collections because of this awful overstyling, this lack of italian elegance and edgy) , beautiful details and accessories, great casting !!! Nothing to complain about !!!!

Amazing collection. It looks fresh and nostalgic, simple and detailed, classical and innovative, refined and eccentric, all at the same time.
And I agree with you, the runway and music were great.
Excellent job!

One word: Sublime!

This is one of her best collections ever! Only she can make ostrich feathers look so chic and sophisticated! The color palette, the clash of prints, the amazing bag.. everything was so quintessential Prada but still so new and so fresh! The irony of having such a prim and proper top look with a buttoned-up shirt/turtle neck and cardigan/sweater/jacket cinched at the waist by a thin belt only to be paired with either a micro-mini skirt (so mini that the underwear was peeping out) or a dangerously-high slitted-skirt with ostrich feathers popping out was incredibly clever! The Chinese-collared monochromatic pantsuits with ostrich feathers at the hem of the sleeves and pants, but of mis-matching colors, were just the chicest things I've seen in a while! With all that, the collection was still so refined and so sophisticated and it was the right amount of fashion that wasn't overwhelming

The show was a reminder why we all love Prada and we needed just that! Brava!

The feather details I could do without but I´m loving everything else. The fabrics and shapes, the accessories, the clean styling on the models... I specially like the matronly vibe but done in a youthful way.

Amazing collection! I can't wait to see people wearing this.

Yes! I love this cleaner and softer Prada. The clothes look so much more desirable when they are not overstyled.

exciting, there's so much to love in this collection! plus the styling is just impeccable:wub:

I have always said Prada is best when Miuccia forgoes an intellectual approach and this collection couldn't be a more superb example of that succeeding. Just truly great clothes not hampered with some over-styled idea she seldomly pulls off with ease. Could have had better shoes but this is one of her best collections in years!

This.

Excellent collection indeed. I love how this goes back to the late 90's/early 00's Prada, the simplicity, the patterns, the simple chic with the omnipresent quirk.

This is a really beautiful Prada collection. A lot of beautiful shirts, skirts and jacket that i can't wait to try or buy.
The collection could have been named "The discreet charm of the bourgeoisie". I love how soft and uncomplicated it is.

BUT! The ostrich feathers thing is gimmicky and pointless. It works as a stole but it's tragic as a trim. I really don't like it and i think it put the collection in a place it wasn't supposed to be. I really hate that!!!!!!

I really think that Miuccia is at her best when she doesn't try hard. She doesn't have to come with new ideas everytime. When she is doing what she does best (simple silhouettes and separates, beautiful colors and amazing prints), she doesn't need the extra styling. Olivier Rizzo did a great job!

I was so happy to see her taking her bow! I don't understand why she stayed longer. Did she received a standing ovation? Did someone went crazy when she appeared?
