Eh...it's the same thing each time...only slightly better this time around.

The first half of the show is actually not bad...very Spring 2003, plus Fall 2010 meets Miu Miu Spring 2014. At least it all looks a bit more cleaned up. But the prints are kind of old hat looking, and as usual...the accessories are just wrong. But then once the studded shirts show up, it's all downhill from there.

I really don't see how Prada can recover it's cache at this point. She has a long way to go, if it's even possible. The brand is such a mess at this point and they've done some serious damage over the last 3-5 years. A halfway decent collection doesn't erase the low points of such recent memory.

And ultimately...even if there are some cute clothes here, what leaves me still unimpressed is that there's nothing here that seems to be saying something about anything. Miuccia talks a big talk backstage about all the esoteric inspirations and musing that inspired her this season...but the product itself doesn't communicate any vision to me. So much of her previous work (prior to maybe 2013) said so much about women and fashion and culture and life. This just looks like product. Cold, hard product.

IDK if is safe to say that "MIUCCIA IS BACK", we already seen her delivering a very good collection (SS16) and then everything went downhill.

I love the collection, of course. Its classy and effortless. Fells very calculated to be commercial and fashion at the same time, what IMO was the problem with the past collections: no direction and just trowing logos to the audience.

Congratulation Miuccia, its not 100% good but Im hoping the best for you.

It's incredibly beautiful but also extremely referential! I can't help but think of which collection I've seen certain looks from! I loved the fabrications and the styling though!

What I miss the most from her old shows is that one clever statement-y gimmick that pulled everything toghether, the kind of thing that, although absurd, made the woman in the show appear clearer to the eyes of the audience.

Like so many seasons before this it feels a bit souless, it makes me miss shows like spring 2014 which verged on the hideous but was also bursting with energy and ideas. dior_couture is right when he mentions that Prada used to be more than a pretty little show, it was a commentary on style, history and women that served as a narrative for the rest of the fashion month and the seasons ahead. I don't she'll ever get that back, sadly.

P.S: Enough with the socks, I used to adore that styling gimmick when Olivier pulled that out of his hat once in a blue moon. It's now so overplayed and they don't even bother to design them, they look like they were pulled out of Miuccia's drawer before the show.

Much better than last season's trainwreck but still far from her peak.

I like it only because it is indeed a combination of her previous collections at Prada but also at Miu Miu. I do believe the fact that Manuela Pavesi is no longer in this world, Miuccia is a bit lost. She was her right hand and best advisor but now she only has Olivier Rizzo...

I love the sheer pieces, the start is great, love the black pieces the best

the end feels a bit weird... i really like when she does more muted colours

The sad thing about this collection (and the collections from last years) it´s that you can tell Miuccia is tired of fashion.

In the past she had always a taste for the new, which allowed her to make a 180º turn from one collection to the next one.
Her work was always fresh. Her collections were always the highlight of the season, groundbreaking and trend-setting.

But now it´s like she doesn´t feel like this anymore. She has become a follower, not a leader. And as long as she´s getting money from all these basic garments and accessories, with her logo all over them, she is gonna remain like this.

    Tragic autopilot mode.

It certainly fits the mode of what Prada should be then past collections. There's tons of past references and "prada-ism" (Thanks Marc) that make this collection just sufficient for me. Miccucia could certainly deliver more.

And the shoe sock hybrid, just isn't it.

Yeah, no. Don't see her making bank on this collection, sorry. For me the main issue with Miuccia other than her creative stagnation is the fact that her collections lost it's 'wearable' factor a few seasons ago. This is not an offensive collection at all, but I just shudder to think what actual women on the street will look like. I share her fascination with socks, so that's the only element which cuts it for me.

From a PR perspective, Prada will always be fine. They'll likely book crazy amounts of edtorial coverage because stylists will always fall over themselves over themselves just to have the brand printed in credits. As it is my Insta is now on shutdown and will probably remain that way until Chanel is finished because of Justine Picardie (obviously!), the fawning over this underwhelming collection is nauseating.

    It is still looks desperate.
I think she is simply tiered and goes from show to show, season to season on autopilot.
I am not excited at all. It is far away from a cool ugliness from past. And it is not an innovation , something "so-so",
    this is really forgettable .

Miuccia doing what she does best. This is her best collection in a while! While it may indeed feel a little auto pilot, I much prefer this to how directionless the brand has felt over the last 2 years or so. This was unapologetically Prada: elegant with the right amount of weirdness thrown in. This is the Prada I've been missing.

I've been OBSESSED with this. This not even perfect but it's a real standout for me. I was smiling during the livestream and screamed when she came out to take her bow.

Honestly, I was expecting a hot mess like the previous season (beyond surprised that a lot of people were wearing it) but she proved that I was wrong. I mean, like Lola said, I was prepared to be murdered by logos everywhere. Delighted by the cast - a lot of fresh faces, the opening girl is stunning-, THE SOUNDTRACK, the styling. Everything looked on point. Obviously there are a few looks that are quite lost in the middle but the overall effect is great. The ultimate Prada elegance twisted with that ugliness we all know.

It felt like a Prada collection. Finally.

This is a lot better than the hideous mess of last season. That being said, the majority of the footwear need to be banished entirely for their sheer ugliness. It baffles me how she even decided to design something as atrocious as the sock shoes that appear during the first few looks. Not only do they look cheap, they're messing with the proportion of the looks. This has been a recurring issue with her collections for the past few seasons. When your outfit offers a lot of statement items--from the head to the knee, in the case of this collection's overarching silhouette--the least you can do is to tone it all down with a rather conservative-looking pair of heels or wedges.

^ agreed. Shoes used to be such her forte. Every season I was mesmerised by her offering but now I want to puke. Never been a fan of socks-shoes hybrid.
