Eh...it's the same thing each time...only slightly better this time around. The first half of the show is actually not bad...very Spring 2003, plus Fall 2010 meets Miu Miu Spring 2014. At least it all looks a bit more cleaned up. But the prints are kind of old hat looking, and as usual...the accessories are just wrong. But then once the studded shirts show up, it's all downhill from there. I really don't see how Prada can recover it's cache at this point. She has a long way to go, if it's even possible. The brand is such a mess at this point and they've done some serious damage over the last 3-5 years. A halfway decent collection doesn't erase the low points of such recent memory. And ultimately...even if there are some cute clothes here, what leaves me still unimpressed is that there's nothing here that seems to be saying something about anything. Miuccia talks a big talk backstage about all the esoteric inspirations and musing that inspired her this season...but the product itself doesn't communicate any vision to me. So much of her previous work (prior to maybe 2013) said so much about women and fashion and culture and life. This just looks like product. Cold, hard product.
