We all know what can happen when you take a trip home as a grown-up, how things you used to take for granted suddenly strike you differently. When Thea Bregazzi visited her family in the Isle of Man—a little-known tax haven off the northwest coast of England—it was her grandmother’s china that caught her eye. “She has all these blue-and-white teacups, stacked up, which look incredible,” she says, laughing. “And the other thing,” adds Bregazzi’s partner, Justin Thornton, “is that Thea’s dad rides motorcycles, so a bit of biker crept into our thinking, too.” Result: The china-patterned prints on silk dresses and shirts, and the ribbed, padded shoulders, elbow patches, sexy leather pencil skirts, and shaggy Mongolian lapels, which bookend Preen’s pre-fall line.

Beautiful and impeccably done, but I can't help feeling that this is a hybrid of Jonathan Saunders' wonderful colour palette and British lady muse with dareIsayit, a splash of Celine with the colour-blocking.
Simplicity and colour-blocking are beautiful and always welcome in my book, but the first part of the collection is Celine with Prada orange, both from S/S 11 - this collection belongs a few seasons back.
High points - the navy blouse with the orange shoulders, the Yves Klein-blue coat, I even think the denim pieces with the yellow top-stitch are quite cute.
Low points - the knit print on chiffon, and the last blue and orange dress which, in the thumbnail looks identical to a Jonathan Saunders' piece.

Ugh, I just love Preen. I always find their perspective to be very refreshing. Could I afford it, I would likely wear all of this, and I actually quite like the trompe l'oeil pieces.

impeccable collection, there's nothing I don't like here, which is fairly rare. it's particularly wonderful they went for stronger colors this time, the color-blocked dresses are definitely my favorite

spring 2012 seemed like such a different direction for these guys...
and a very very good one...
this seems like an extension of that direction which is wonderful...

what's not to love...?!

Preen is one of the most consistent labels around in my opinion. I never feel as if they have half-***ed it when it comes to Pre-Fall or Resort. Always wearable, always beautiful and covetable.

I can't wait to see their fall collection now.

to me this is the functional, experimental side of thornton bregazzi i fell so madly in love with all those years ago when they started their line as preen genes. although, none of that texture they were so good at is prevalent, the spirit is definitely there again and i cannot be more pleased with the direction they've been heading into lately.
