New Delhi (IANS): Fed up with responding to queries about her family background, actress Preity Zinta has finally revealed her British connection.
"Some people think I'm south Indian, while some feel I'm a Muslim. There have also been fans who have asked me whether I hail from Himachal Pradesh," said Preity in a press statement.
"In the early 18th century, when marital alliances between the Rajput and British became quite common, the Zinta clan was born. I'm the rare combination of British and Rajput blood," she added. The actress has reportedly signed a film with her "Dil Chahta Hai" co-star Aamir Khan to be made under the Yash Raj banner.

I just always assumed she was Punjabi. It's awesome that she signed on to do a film w/Aamir!!!
 
^^That must be really old news, because Dil Chahta Hai came out quite a few years ago!
 
^ Dil Chahta Hai wasn't produced by Yash Raj though. I think that's the only other movie they've been in together, so they referred to him as her DCH co-star. The article itself is from yesterday, so I think it's fairly new.

Rumour has it that the king of romance, Yash Chopra, is hoping to take the helm again and has penned a romance that charts the ups and downs of two people deeply in love as they move through life into middle age. Yash is said to have picked out Preity and Aamir Khan as his stars. Preity is apparently keen but Aamir is said to need some more convincing.

Everyone knows that Preity has a smart head on her shoulders and has been pretty successful in handling her own business affairs. Now there are signs that she may be moving up a league as she will be attending the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry Frames Conference in February which will bring together leading business and industrial figures from India and the west. Yash Chopra, Karan Johar, Bipasha Basu and Shakhar Kapur will also be there. Key potential partners include Ben Silverman of NBC Universal and Craig Mundie of Microsoft.

Yash Chopra has Aamir Khan in mind for the male lead. Our source said, “There are talks on with Aamir currently.

Yash Chopra was impressed with the magic that Aamir and Preity had created in Dil Chahta Hai.

Therefore he is keen to have the two in this film.”

Oops sorry, i misread it!

I quite liked them in DCH, so it will be interesting to see them onscreen again :)
