they are finally back! this IS the best colection from ny fashionn week (idonneven are about the last day). just perfect. theres just an harmony about everyting in this colection.wow im so in love!

^ Regarding your first point- that's one of the reasons why I always wait before I decide, "I don't like this collection" from Balenciaga, even though it's really not my cup of tea, because I know Nicolas Ghesquiere is one of the few who's going to take risks and make clothes that aren't targeted to the average fashion-y customer. But then loads of designers will take cues from him and put out nice collections, and in the end I can't hate.

It may be too early to say this, but so far, this is hands down my favorite collection from NY. I'm loving all that asymmetricality going on, don't know if that's even a word, but you know what I mean. Also loving all that chinoiserie, done in a such a less cheesy way than Jason Wu, and how they manage to keep giving out school girl vibes that I adore so much.

I agree with every word you wrote. I'm also terrified that too much bad press and reviews will persuade the Balenciaga owners to assert pressure on NG to deliver "easier" collections. I actually dislike the collections that received the best reviews and no doubt sold better - the frilly "Balmain-ish" collection comes to mind, though of course it was Balenciaga that inspired Balmain. I didn't like his last collection either, and I was quite harsh, wonder if I would regret it when others start "interpreting" it...:ninja: No matter, he is quite a fashion "great" now, belonging in the same pantheon as Raf Simons and Martin Margiela.

And of course it is much easier to get it right for the others (the MJs, Rodartes, Pedro Lourencos and Proenza Schoulers) after seeing the original up close with its experimental flaws, warts and all..and then to do it better. The true test is delivering that first startling collection that is original, fresh and divides opinion.

All obvious influences aside, i love this, the little details and the embroideries and the accessories and of course the styling is amazing

i quite like the outfits, as balenciaga influenced as they are... and i usually loathe fur bags, but i actually like these! the shoes are pretty great too.

Reminds me a lot of Balenciaga and little bit of Celine but I still love it nonetheless. In my opinion, the best NY collection this season!

I love this!! Its superb!

I love all the references to China; particularly the references to the Terracotta army and their armour. Brilliant!

OMG did aliens kidnap and brainwashed them to forget everything they learned about cuts!?! *ugh*

I can also spot some Wang inspiration in those perforated jackets with the vibrant shirts underneath..

I'm not really a fan of the white looks, they do it much better when it comes to different colours, textures, fabrics. Stunning collection  I don't see it as a copy+paste from Balenciaga.
