Project Catwalk UK

Wow, hi lesley! You were great on the show, I really didn't feel you should have left last week. I understand the challenge was about working in teams but it seemed to me a shame that the owner of one of the top 3 designs had to leave, it just seemed not to make sense to me.

And, where did this thread come from! I've been dying to natter!

^ your not the only one! i love it so much, although i cant remember any of the names  i thought the kelly o. was stupid last time, i think she was a really hard person to design for, it would have been so much better if it was erin to design for...and i dont think the group idea was too good...

Yeah...especially since they all have such defined ideas. I think it's incredibly difficult to get ppl to 'get' your vision in such a short amount of time.

Although I'm not exactly the biggest Kelly fan but it was interesting seeing whether they could design with more flesh in mind! If they're gonna be working at Topshop, it goes up to size 16 no? Im seriously addicted to te show, last week I was supposed to be going out but stayed in, ate chocolate and watched it!

When I walked past Debenham's the other day they had some Julien Macdonald childrenswear in the window, it was hilarious! It had like ABC letters splashed all over it going "JULIEN MACDONALD!!!!!!!" Whatever mum decided to buy that for their kid must be seriously into domination.

Yea im not a massive McDonald fan, theres been great guest judges (giles deacon, erin o connor etc..) and quite varied too, but I think the main panel are all too much from the same end of the fashion spectrum.

I quite like Lorraine Candy....she looks like she has a firm and sensible opinion. I liked her when she was judging on Model Behaviour (the British pre-decessor to ANTM....sooo much better too...).

I've been watching this via bit torrent and it's just great! Better than this season's PR, it has a feeling much more like last season, maybe even better. Can one of you lovelies that watches it live in the UK please tell me what day new episodes air? I'm wondering when I can expect to find fresh ones popping up on bit torrent :p

^It airs here on Thursday, 9pm (Greenwich Meantime)

I usually see torrents on mininova.org up about 2 days after airing.

Garden Party

OH, Lesley... what was the white thing made from on the skirt of your garden party dress. that was brilliant...__________________
the dress was made from a purple plastic shower curtain, the corset was a metal radiator grille and the white applique, was lining paper - for walls. I cut all the shapes (how you do snowflakes... used to do them with the kids at xmas) birds, flowers and leaves. It was really hard work.... guess I should just have bought dust sheets like the others, but Isabella Blow said it had to be 'innovative, have movement and be wearable - at a garden party'.

Take a look at Julien Macdonald's collection..... he has something remarkably similar :innocent: (mine was made at the end of July '05...)

Episode 4

Welcome to TFS Lesley! Such a shame you had to go just cos of that one dress as your earlier designs were lovely. I thought it might've been Shakeel instead but that's the way the cookie crumbles I suppose. How are your kiddies btw? they looked adorable on the show. All the best to you in your life & career. :)
Thank you Tinuvel. The kids are fine and they are cute, funny little people. They were very glad to have me back home. I don't think Shakeel deserved to go that episode, he worked really hard for Chris and did a good job.

It was a poison chalice for sure - but that's life. So many people have said that it was very unfair. I enjoyed what time I spent there though. It was a great experience!

I'm really enjoying watching the show so far, it makes you want to get out a needle and thread!

I thought the challenge last week was really unfair. To put individuals into a group situation when they had previously been competing against each other was ridiculous!

Hey Leslie!:flower: You're very talented, and I find it remarkable that you look after 3 children (am I right in thinking that the boys are blind?) and still maintain such a cool hairdo:lol: I've always wanted to get my hair cut like that too, but I keep wussing out:innocent: Could you tell me when the show was filmed? was it around July last year?

Isn't it fab that we actually have inside information - thanks for stopping by on TFS, Lesley! :flower:

Here's an article on the show in this month's UK Elle:

Sorry... did you say isabella said that something should be "wearable"??? haha. Irony! (We do love her though.

Marie-Ann designed a dress for bjork?? I'm turning forty shades of green. Anyone know what it is?

OMG! Shock Shock Horror! I don't wanna give any spoilers but why did she have to go????????????

I thought the worse dress was Renato's, the colour, the makeshift-ness of it all.........Matthew's was bland but he has talent - this was just the wrong challenge for him.
