I thought the worse dress was Renato's, the colour, the makeshift-ness of it all.........Matthew's was bland but he has talent - this was just the wrong challenge for him.

I totally agree. I hope Matthew has the chance to prove himself next week. Everything seemed wrong with Renato's dress to me, very 'make-shift' like you said Susie and colour was horrible.

OMG! Shock Shock Horror! I don't wanna give any spoilers but why did she have to go????????????

Yeah, sleaves are a difficult concept to grasp. No offence to the lad, and I know he's young et cetera, but he comes across as a bit inept. I agreed with a lot of things the other designers were saying towards the end.

Top 3 were about right in my opinion.

So who does everyone think are the front-runners at the moment? I'd say Christopher, Debi, Kirsty/Marianne.

you can catch it on sky three around 11 on saturday morning or 8 on sunday night. don't quote me on the times, best check on sky.com just in case

Christophers gonna win I reckon. He's my favourite too, well actually maybe I have a selective memory because I didn't like his Barbour outfit but his dress this week was so breathtaking I think I might have forgotten. Other than his I like Kirri (is that right, ive forgotten that too!) and I think Debbie's strong.

I really think Matthew ought to have gone tonight, although it was close I was just quite appaulled by the dress, my GCSE project was better made for petes sake. Though I don't think *the other one* (so as not to spoil it!) has been as strong in the past.

Christopher did do really well tonight. I never really noticed the model he had until tonight, in that dress she shone! I can't remember her name but she really reminds me of Rachel McAdams.

^Yes I was thinking the exact same thing! Same kind of smile!

I always thought Christopher was a stealthily strong contender. I'm quite sad that the person who left tonight did leave because her style and design aesthetic is v. in tune with my tastes. Kinda quirky, cutesy. It is a pity especially since her dress was not the worse one! *cough cough Renato*!

Oh my crap, I think I can guess who went from your replies Susie:shock: And I don't want it to be her because I love her and her designs so far have been so cream-of-the-crop and she's my second favourite  But Chris is still in, which is good. I think he's definitely got the creative talent and innovative ideas and he'll go places, but he'd get on better without having to carry that demeaning "contestant in a reality show" title with him. I like his ideas, I find that they tend to be more adventurous and fashion-forward than the rest, as some of them only stay in their comfort zone and create clothes that are "safe".

I think I can sort of guess it, and she was one of my favorites, too. Matthew is adorable (although this act is getting old), but can they just cut him already?! At first, I was pretty impressed by his work since he's a first year student but baffled at the same time at how he managed to pull off certain things he's never done before (jackets, lining) within the time limits. Does this kid even know how to make his own patterns yet? And then someone here mentioned the help he's been getting, and it all makes sense now. Still, I don't understand how his simple garments have managed to top the list the past few weeks. I blame everything on that Julian Donkey Boy. What a tasteless asswipe! Osama Bin di Sleezy is pretty rotten, too. It's a good thing this show has talented designers b/c the supporting cast certainly sucks.

The fabric that matthew picked... oh god... he has his ups and downs, doesn't he?? You can really see the other designers begin to get annoyed he's still here.

I loved... was it debi's dress? or was it kirsti... the one with the crazy model who went mental over the ribbon. or lack of. the drape was just amazing. And of course christoper:heart:

Oh god... renato should be cut just cause he's ANNOYING. and his designs are a bit... bleh.

Marianne's dress for Bjork....

haha, I'll go have a look!!
Marie-Ann designed a dress for bjork?? I'm turning forty shades of green. Anyone know what it is?
Apparently it was a dress with lots of big ball sequins on it (if I remember rightly) from Alexander McQueen's studio when she was on work placement there. I'm not positive - but maybe you could look it up?

More pics from the Kelly Osbourne episode last week. The brief was to design a red carpet dress for Kelly Osbourne. They all did sketches and had two minutes each to present their ideas to Kelly. Only three were chosen to be actually made. So the winning designer had to pick two ppl from the 'rejects' to form a team. I thought this challenge was v. ridiculous especially under the time constraint, to head up a team and it put a great deal more pressure on the winning designers than the team followers even though their designs were the chosen ones!

Here are some of the sketches:

Debi4sketch.jpg

Debi's design - v. Balenciaga S/S 06! A bit ahead of her time!
Gemma4sketch.jpg

Gemma's design which looked v. nice on paper.
Renato4sketch.jpg

Renato's design (which he ripped up in a hissy fit after he found out he wasn't chosen by Kelly!)

All pics screencapped by myself.

Christopher's Design - which was my fave actually because I thought this was v. Kelly! It didn't win though because Kelly thought it wouldn't flatter her body (yet I've seen her wear something v. similar......
He chose Shakeel and Kirsty for his team (Shakeel did the corsetry and Kirsty did the skirt)

Lesley's design - I thought this sounded v. ambitious on paper and v. interesting and like Kelly, I was most intrigued at how this would turn out. Lesley - maybe you can clarify this for me. You know you said you would use bleach to do a trompe d'oeil design on the dress - how comes I can't see it? TBH, I think you should have been there to guide Renato and Matthew (bless the poor boy but he just did NOT know what he was doing!!) coz I think they might have screwed up your design...
I was v. sorry to see you go especially when I loved all your designs in the weeks previously. But I admire you for taking the flack and not blaming your team.

Marianne's design - Having friends on her team really helped I think. She chose Gemma and Debi. This was more an example of good team work execution than an actual outstanding design. I think the lime satin is just a bit too much and I thought the neckline was too fussy. But she did alter the design from the original idea to please Kelly so I think she fufilled the brief.

Thanks for the pix susie bubble! I think Chris' design would have been perfect for Kelly had he not made the tragic mistake of making the corset white. Does he know nothing about color and women's bodies? Not everyone is a size 0, much less Kelly O. Even on the model, the contrast in colors is a little jarring. You don't really notice the corset (nice job, Shakeel btw); it just looks like a big void. I love his designs, but he seems to do a lot of white/black/red stuff, and frankly, I'm a little tired of that color scheme. I'm more into warm colors, subtle color changes, pattern mixing, and a focus on texture.

I agreed with the judges, too, about the black sheer on Mar's dress being a little old. It reminds me of Vera Wang circa 1990. I also wish she had used more texture and subtle colors.

I suppose the shape and colour corset wouldnt be the most flattering on Kelly and i agree the scheme is a bit repetitive banini but theyre very Kelly Osbourne colours, with her white skin, red lips and black hair it was very her........:flower:

Rachyroo, i agree chrsitophers model was really pretty and looked stunning in the latest challenge...

Marianne realised it but her dress was not a wedding dress, it could of been made more marital by not having a mid thigh length slit on it though... ;) i liked the colour but then felt it was unfair that gemma's dress which was mainly white was branded as being unsuitable...

Hi guys! I just came home from Project Catwalk show. I was doing the final show at Natural history museum. It was really great! Here are some picks. The third one looks quite scary, I know, but the dress was really nice!!!
