Puffball/egg shaped skirts

How do tulip or puffball skirts work on short people, and what ideally, should you wear on top? I'm 1,63m.

I got a gorgeous black one in a sale recently- they weren't really big here. I might keep it for a while until it's really out. I will probably wear a simple t-shirt/vest top with it or a slim fit grey jumper with 3/4 sleeves. I am short-ish but the skirt ends above the knee so I think it works well. Anything past the knee I would say no, forget it.

i love that skirt in post #180. but i'd wear it with another top. i don't like that the skirt .and. the sleeves in that outfit are puffy. although.. the longer i look at it..

i don't know how that translates into feet, but i'm 5' exactly and i have both a puffball skirt and an egg skirt that i made and have been told on both occasions that i look really great in them! i guess it's up to you if they work on you. i wore a tight black tee with both skirts and i think that proportion (tight on top, slightly more voluminous on the bottom) worked really well.

I think the tight on top, voluminous bottom proportion is the safest way to wear these skirts for MOST ppl (tall ppl included). Perhaps a shorter length (not quite mini but definitely a bit above the knee) puffball skirt might work better on shorter ppl because a longer length might swamp you but .f has shown that it can work!

I like to wear mine with pointy flats to elongate the legs.

thanks susie! i need to get myself some pointy flats  i wore black canvas chinese slippers with that particular skirt.

As susie said a shorter version of the skirt will do the trick... ^_^

Never thought about wearing pointy flats with them to make my legs seem longer, I'll have to try that. . . thanks susie... :flower:

I bought that skirt from Stella for H&M. I think it gives me a beautiful silhouette. It is not unflattering at it does not make my behind look bigger.

oo that loooks amazing! ^_^

I think you have to have the "right" body to wear these kinds of skirts, otherwise you may look fat.

This is more what I would call a 'tulip shape' skirt, I love high waists at the moment:blush:.

Thanks you two... I always do minimal make up & hair so no prob there lol.

Oh & Ill check the flats out but yeah... your probably right. I dont own a knee high flat boot so I think Ill just go with the opaque tights with a pump.

Any ideas on other tops to wear with it?

I guess my pic got delete because I forgot to credit it...sorry about that. I keep forgetting. Its from Firstview.com.

Here it is again... in case anyone has an ideas on colors to wear with it.

i believe kimair has this skirt...might wanna ask her how she wears hers! :woot:

Thanks Brian.^_^

On the short people question, I'm very small as well, what works for me is to balance it with a tighter top.

And you want to avoid skirts that go past the knee as they will make short legs look even shorter. :flower:
