I noticed some purple popping up on runways last season. Proenza Schouler, Versace, Cavalli, Donna Karan....they all featured some bright, vivid shade of purple instead of the more traditional plums.

It definitly carried over, and expanded in the spring collections, from lilac to violet everything is turning purple.

I've got to say, it's a refreshing color to see because it's kind of unusual. And I LOVE YSL's shade, it's gorgeous.

I loved this at YSL...that's the perfect shade of purple for me.

And of course Alexander McQueen did it wonderfully; the purple goes great with the first dress. :D

thanks spike... i've definitely been sensing a purple revival too ^_^

i prefer the darker, more plum-like shades like those at YSL...

thanks for the thread :flower:

That miu miu dress is sooo cute. Purple is surprisingly versatile and can be really rich. I love it!

^ Definitely one of the more decadent colours. I like purple but them prefer in deeper shades - plum, burgundy, indigo, berry. They go better with my pale skin tone. The YSL ones are perfect.

I totally agree with you! McQueen's dresses are so beautiful! I like the second pic from Ungaro too. I don't like dress form Blumarine - because of a colour and cut.

I agree about the YSL shade as far as deeper purples... and ones with a more rich and dark plum tone. as far as lighter purploes I love the sheer and pale way that McQueen did it. as far as anything in between though I am really on the fence. not really a fan of bright pinks or purples. :flower:

Oohh that miu miu dress is gorgeous. And completely agree with the darker more plum tone

okay...why did I read the title of this thread and thought it was a clothing line? :ninja:

I do like the color purple....very regal!

I noticed this too, and I'm excited! Purple has been my favorite color since I was a kid

Me too. I love the richness of purple. I always associate it with elegance.

Blumarine is definately a hottie in that outfit.

Vivienne Westwood's model, on the other hand, simply looks like target practice.
