DONT SHOP at Purpleskirt.com anymore!

I just bought a pair of James jeans from them. They came to me with the button almost falling off. There was supposed to be a form to fill out on the back of my invoice... it wasnt there. Not only wasnt it there but it was a totally unprofessional invoice that was cheaply printed off a printer on a torn in half piece of paper. There was supposed to be a purple skirt tag on the jeans to return... it wasnt there so I tryed to email them... all the emails came back saying their box was full. So I tryed to call their 800 #... they connected me to a 900 # that tryed to charge me $9.99!! I tryed to call their reg #... it was disconnected!! I tryed to fax them... it didnt go through. I called the co. that represented them... not anymore they dont! Soooooooooo I have called my credit card to dispute the charge. Im NOT buying $86.00 for some jeans with a broken button. My CC company was really nice about it & are helping out alot. Anyways... I just wanted to warn everyone.

That's really odd that happened as I've only ever known purpleskirt.com to be a completely reputable company and for that to happen is really odd. I wonder if something happened to interfer with their website or their company or something.

Thats what people have said but Im thinking they might have been bought by someone else who has now skipped town.
I talked to the company that did represent them & they wouldnt tell me why they stopped representing them so obviously something happened.
Id just say shop there at your own risk or try to call them first.

I've always thought the clothes they sold were a little blah.

Let your credit card fight it.. they'll probably credit your account.. and the company will go after purpleskirt.

Purpleskirt is bad news.

I had two purchases with them this past summer. One where I was overcharged...the other where I had to return the item.

I was able to contact them...however, even though they had assured me numerous times that the credits would be processed, they never were. In both instances I had to file disputes with my CC to get the adjustment/credit.

This is good to know. Thanks.

It's really sad when companies (whether web based or not) take advantage of the customer. I hate that. They should have a statement or something on their website...if they changed owners or something. The customer has a right to know that.

The button almost fell off? :woot: :D  I'm going to buy 10 pairs of James jeans from them right now! I love that, when the clothes are so shabby it's to the point of derelique...it's so authentic, so sexy and unkempt. Now all I need to complete my look of deconstructed blazer and jeans with no button is a full bodied American Spirit ;) :) :p

OMG- I can't believe they would let that happen to a customer. I know buttons fall off and things have to be returned, but they should be on that lickity split with a smile. If they did sell their name to someone else- I just don't understand... How could you let someone else represent your name? They could tarnish it forever. No millions are worth that risk. A friend of mine knows one of the owners(not Tracy Ullman- this woman used to be a stylist for Belinda Carlisle back in the GoGo days). She has encouraged me to try to get my bags on the site, but I make them by hand & haven't manufactured a cheaper version yet. Maybe this is a sign to steer clear??? I be scared now
