Q&A: Favourite foundations

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned this, but I would advise anyone who's looking a a new foundation or concealer, to ask for a sample at the counter before buying the full size. Just becasue it works on someone else's skin with no problems doesn't mean it will work for you. And just becasue they say it won't clog your pores or it's a light foundation, don't assume that there's no way it won't cause acne for you. Light foundation doesn't mean acne free, take it from my experinece.

I have
*Vitalumiere satin smoothing fluid makeup
*Double Perfection fluide matte reflection makeup
*Voile Universel ultra sheer makeup
*Double Perfection Creme Poudre

And I think that the first and the last ones are the best.

Hello, I have oily skin with large pores, and I'm not trying to hide them what is definitely impossible, but I am hoping for light, medium coverage, nothing heavy. So far I've been using Clinique perfectly real make up, but not quite satisfied with it. Any suggestions about something I could use? I like Dior, all my other make up is Dior, also Lancome, Chanel and Clinique, These are easiest to buy in my country.
Thank you all

i dont know
but chanel never worked for me
i used chanel double perfection compact
and teint naturel

doesnt stay put on face and my clothes were all staind from my foundation.
if I would touch my face and then clothes

I bought a new Dior foundation yesterday...and it's GREAT. It's Pure Light Sheer skin-lighting makeup... It matches my skin colour really well...recommend... ^_^

i love my double perfection compact powder foundation!

i have oily, sensitive, yet easily dehydrated skin...and this seems to work really well when i apply it dry with a powder puff. i also love how it seems to brighten up my complexion as opposed to flatten it...it's great, and i predict it will last me a year and a half

I am particulary interested in Dior...... But isn't Pure Light Sheer skin-lighting makeup very much light?
I've never used anything else but a liquid foundation....should I try with a very light liquid one followed with a loose powder or compact.............
And are you satisfied with a compact only..I 've always believed that it doesn't leave skin smooth enought like a liquid foundation does?

People here are really great...thanks

I LOVE:

- Clarins True Radiance
- Diorskin Pure light
- Chanel Vitalumiere compact
- Stila Pivotal Skin
- MAC Select Tint

I love using a light coverage liquid with a setting powder (like MAC Blot Powder) on top - or, if I want slightly more coverage, I'll use Stila IPF on top (the Blot is translucent, the IPF has some colour in it).

It depends on what compact you have - I've only met two compacts I've liked, and they're the Clarins Rich compact and the Chanel Vitalumiere one - they're the only ones which have a light coverage and don't make my skin look like chalk.

Good luck! ;)

I have skin (and pores) like yours, and I use Perfectly Real, too. I'm not 100% satisfyed either, but usually after foundation I use powder and it covers the pores quite well.

Have you tried Clinique's SuperFit? My sister used it for a while and she loved it. I'm waiting until I run out of Perfectly Real to get some.

armani's luminous silk foundation is the best:heart:
Bought max factor flawless perfection the other day cause it's on sale.quite suprice it's actually really good and last for whole day.

I am not sure that Clinique's SuperFit is better than Perfectly Real, becouse it is long wearing and therefore much heavier....Maybe Superbalanced make up, also by Clinique could be better choice............?
I am also interested in lancome ID.....Any idea?

applying a foundation primer and not, does it make a big difference?
also is studio fix good by MAC?

^ A primer helps your make up stay on place all day and some help to ' mattify '.

I wear only mineral make up and feel that it stays on place all day so for me it's not nessecary.

ive heard bare essentials id and smashbox are pretty good. Ive been using prescriptive custom blend foundation for a while, planning to swith to a new foundation i have like some in n mind
the chanel vitamulaire- lots of people semee to reallyu like it
bare essentials?

I'm currently using Estee Lauder Doublewear. Quite light for combination skin and covered my pores.

I always thought that Estee Lauder Doublewear was heavy, never even wanted to try it......But now I am suprised.......

I love chanel's vitalumiere, but for everyday I'm LOVING Neutrogena healthy skin enhancer. it's a bit more pricey than other drugstore TM's, but the packaging keeps it very clean, and it is so great on my skin. I will become murderous if this ever gets DC'd!

Does anyone know if chanel's vitalumiere comes in an shades lighter than Gentle Ivory?
