It’s hard to believe that a collection as luxurious as the one Ralph Rucci showed for resort was inspired by Seventies New York clubs The Saint and Paradise Garage. Rucci said he was specifically thinking about “all those diaphanous, bias-cut looks that were there,” thus he worked the shapes into tunics and gowns in intricately patterned silk gazar and chiffon-weight lamé.
Rucci also ventured into shorts, showing them in sequins, silk and leather. They all looked great with fitted white cotton shirts and, in one instance, a drapy black leather jacket.
