I think that Raquel survived all this generations not just because of her talent and beauty, but because a lot of designers love her, like Lagerfeld, Galliano, Miuccia etc. etc. etc.

A brasileira Raquel Zimmermann é a nova número 1 do mundo, segundo o ranking do site models.com. Há tempos na segunda colocação, ela subiu para primeira após uma grande temporada em que fez os principais desfiles e campanhas e está em capas e editoriais das principais publicações de moda.
Nascida em Novo Hamburgo, no Rio Grande do Sul, Raquel tem 24 anos e iniciou sua carreira em São Paulo, quando tinha apenas 14 anos, em uma sessão de fotos para a revista teen "Capricho". Seu primeiro trabalho internacional foi no Japão. Após meses de trabalho em terras orientais, onde ficou com a mãe, a bela se mudou sozinha para Nova York quando tinha 18 anos, onde mora até hoje.
Sua carreira despontou mundialmente em 1999, no auge do "boom" das brasileiras. Após abrir o desfile de inverno 2004 da Prada, foi escolhida para ser a estrela da marca. O poderoso diretor da grife italiana, Fabio Zambernardi, disse que "se apaixonou" pelo top e por isso a escalou para ser a cara da estação. No seu port-fólio, campanhas para Chanel Eyewear, Dolce&Gabbana, Escada, Giogio Armani e Louis Vuitton, além de trabalhos para a Balenciaga, Hermès, Valentino, Versace e Yves Saint-Laurent e editoriais para as maiores revistas de moda, entre elas capas da Vogue (Brasil, Grécia, Itália, Paris, US), Elle e Interview.
Nesta temporada, Raquel dominou a temporada: fez vários editoriais para as Vogue's americana e francesa; foi capa por duas vezes da V, sendo na última edição estrela de um mega editorial de 50 páginas; estrelou as campanhas Animale, Calvin Klein, Emanuel Ungaro, Fendi, dos perfumes Fendi Palazzo e Gucci Fragance, além de ter feito os principais desfiles.
Outros modelos brasileiros também fazem parte do ranking do models.com: entre as mulheres, Caroline Trentini (5ª), Bruna Tenório (35ª), Daiane Conterato (36ª) e Flávia Oliveira (45ª). Já nos homens, o mais bem colocado é Evandro Soldati, na terceira posição, seguido por André Ziehe (29ª), Michael Camiloto (33ª) e Romulo Pires (39ª).
