Banana Republic's Fall 2012 Collection is Fit for Raquel Zimmermann
Yesterday Modelinia had the pleasure of heading backstage for Banana Republic’s Fall 2012 presentation where we got to catch up with a number of the fresh, new faces we met during Fashion Week. But unlike the backstage frenzy we’re used to during Fashion Week, everything was calm, collected, and almost peaceful yesterday. “It’s actually kind of nice because you actually get to hang out with your friends without the stress and pressure of time,” Andie Arthur said. “You have the time to do your hair and makeup so you’re not getting ripped to shreds with 15 minutes til go-time.” This was a mutual feeling for many of the models yesterday including Jessica Clarke, Hanna Rundolf, Imogen Morris Clarke, and Emily Senko.
As far as the clothing goes, Banana Republic’s Creative Director Simon Kneen was spot on - as per usual -creating a line of clothing that’s affordable, chic, and on-trend for the upcoming season. “I always keep the Banana Republic woman in mind [when designing],” Simon said. “She’s so dynamic and modern and versatile, which is really what this collection is all about. Being able to go from work to dinner to home in just a few essential pieces.” But if Simon were to see the collection on any supermodel, there’s no question that his pick would be Raquel Zimmermann. “I think she is one of the most beautiful models there is. That would be a total dream!” Though there was no Raquel sighting at last night’s presentation, we can totally see her rocking the leather shirt and pleated skirt outfit seen on the far right in the above photo. Can’t you?
