Reg. Boots For Rainy Days

i'm looking for a pair of high heel boots for rainy days that aren't rainboots and can keep water out...not too pricey as i want to be able to allow them to get beat up

Darn, I was going to suggest black wellingtons.

Everyone was wearing them in Venice, particularly around St. Marc's square!

If you want to keep rain out, I'd suggest a durable leather and a boot that fits snugly around the top.

How about these from Marc. I realize that they are "rainboots', but they DO have fairly tall heels. Otherwise I "somewhat" agree with Saturnine...if you put on a good coat of spray-on "water repellant" AND put a good grade of shoe polish on regularly, you should be good to go, provided you don't jump in every mud puddle in sight (like my 2 year old does) HTH

omg i just remembered i just found my old doc martens last weekend! i bought them during my rocker phase
as for just spraying regular boots... a problem i've had before is that htey'll still leak water from i guess the seams ?

Zappos has some tall boots from a company called "Aquatalia" that they claim are completely "weatherproof". They come in a variety of bright colors as well as black.
