Richard Quinn S/S 2020 London

I. Love. This !!!!!
God, I have not been this excited about a collection or fashion show in ages. It's glamourous, subversive, and sexy in an off way.

I'm just going to say it: Fire MGC and hire this guy at Dior IMMEDIATELY. Can you imagine what he could do on that budget ?!

Please no!

Even if I do like the way he has styled the models, I have yet to see the range, skill and creativity needed for Dior.

He shows more range than MGC in my opinion. At least he doesn't strike me as the type to send a box as a finale look of a haute couture collection at one of the most famous and important French houses in the world ......

It’s fun and well done but personally I’m not into that old fashion drag queen look.

Unless it’s for an actual drag queen.

I still have no idea about this guy’s story...he seems to have come out of nowhere and somehow I’m very confused about what the deal is with him?? Haha

But I will say, this is his best show yet. There are quite a few looks that feel immature and not particularly judicious....

But then there are others that are pretty fab. I love both looks on Phillipa Hemphrey (the embellished animal print and black tulle look and the finale silver beaded fringe one), I love floral caftan with the rhinestone neckline and I love that silver embellished crisscross dress with the maribou trim.

Not bad. A bit silly, but not bad.

I remember liking one of his shows a while back but this is just pure high school level of design in my opinion. It's literally the kid who discovers John's shows for Dior and suddenly wants to be a designer.

I don't get it. This looks like the unholy offspring between Guo Pei and Lacroix, how are these clothes relevant in 2019? Better yet, who will actually buy them?

Too much screaming and grandeur and yet, no real point of view or creativity. We have seen those clothes many times, better and done in a more inventive way.
His non-printed stuff is actually better than what made him a star.

I want to like him but i’ve learned to not be too impressed by « motif designers ».
Now that i’m Thinking about that...Where is Mary Katrantzou?

I was wondering as well. Turns out she's presenting her collection in Greece next week, in collaboration with a charity organisation as a special event.

If you ate nothing but tacky 80s wedding cakes while watching Toodlers & Tiaras you would be magically transformed into one of his dresses by the third day...or so I've been told.
