I'm glad she cut her hair but they really messed up her hair style for the night. Looks like a bad wig from the 90s.

Rihanna debuts her new short hair on the red carpet at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards held at Staples Center on Thursday (September 6) in Los Angeles.

The 24-year-old singer will be opening up the show with a performance of her new song “Cockiness” with A$AP Rocky and her hit “We Found Love” with Calvin Harris.



Rihanna is nominated for many awards tonight, including Video of the Year, Best Female Video, Best Pop Video, and various technical awards for her video “We Found Love”.

^ Elegant is exactly the first thing I thought too! The cropped hair together with the dress really highlight her skin and features, she looks very pretty as well as more mature (in a good way, seeing as mature is a dirty word these days ha!)

The only thing I don't like, her toenails which look like they need a trim.

I also prefer short hair on her, she looks so elegant and beautiful. Her skin is just amazing, in motion it's literally sick.
I really like the white dress now that I've seen more of it. It's minimal and classy, but of course, in a Rihanna way.
