He did not merely "label himself", what he did was Alta Moda, the Italian equivalent of Haute Couture. Fausto Sarli was a master when it came to tailoring, like most Italian designers worth their salt, but he excelled at creating soft and fluid entrance-making dresses. I remember his beautiful collections of the mid 90s: each a master class in style and know-how. Hope to see a retrospective of his work soon. I shall miss him.
