this husband/wife team are absolutely amazing. i first fell in love with it work with robert's book "the architect's brother," and then again when i saw a reading/viewing at san francisco art institute a few years back. i was totally floored by the both of them, their way of working together..these images are so much more than what they seem. and seeing the images in real life was so breathtaking. if you ever have the opportunity, please take it.

here are a few to start you off. i also wanted to mention that these are in NO way digitally altered. everything is what you see is what you get. they do some amazing things with the process...it's unbelievable.

hi krizzlec,

yes, i have seen their (it's a husband/wife team) work in person, in san francisco, as i said. they are amazing. your friend is very lucky, i'd love to work with them.

please feel free to bring in photographers or other work that you like..it's ok if it's not directly fashion-related.

i also wanted to point out and forgot that the "everyman" in the images is robert himself! so fantastic.

It gives me a Dalí feeling, good thing. I very much like the old postal card effect too.

It just leaves me speechless, how can you do this with processing? So a world without digital science is possible! That gives me hope :p

Thanks so much for sharing this .F

thanks for sharing .f, it's interesting how surrealism in photography seems to be revived now? i'm glad not to be reminded of dali though (as he's one of the few painters i really dread like the devil, a reaction that might have pleased him:lol:)

How.. how come I said Dali?:lol: I meant Magritte, obviously. Men with umbrellas in the sky and birds.

ah, relief!
i actually didn't want to bring up magritte again because you lectured me last time when i sloppily compared something with him:p
it's definitely there, though^_^

i definitely see magritte more than dali, though it is slightly dali-esque in its surreality. but magritte always strikes me as being tongue-in-cheek, and this to me is much more serious, almost morbid and foreboding. but theory aside, i do see the comparison :)

yes, it's much darker and more serene...
while i do have to add i get something dark from magritte, too. it's ironic and surprising but not really always 'funny'.

(but dali's surreality is just so bleurgh, no undertones, no tongue in cheek, just craft to blend... in my opininon of course)
