love, love,LOVE romina!! there's a definitely a narrative one can interpret from this.....for me it's almost as if some sort of sci-fi characters landed on some desolate, dingy beach...

the clothes are very much the style i've become acquainted of her prior work. very distinct elements. loads of geometric cutting within a very structured silhouette. she's a very good talent. watch out for her!

some very nice looks, although a few like the third in post 5 do nothing for me. definitely interesting, thanks Scott.

Thanks for the post Scott. I was at her show last week at the RAA
Roisin Murphy was there, too taking pictures of the show..I can really see Roisin in Romina's geometric designs...

Really nice collection... lots of positive things going on here and of course I love the monochromatic-ness  I really like how the focus of many of the garments draws the eye into the waist... yet they remain fairly flattering.

thanks again, mr. scott :winkiss:

^you're welcome,as always!

hellas....no surprise about roisin being present. many wouldn't think somebody as well-known as she, would make an appearance at such a small designer's event.....but that's roisin. always such an esoteric keen eye on the up and coming. she was the first person to wear bruno pieters before he began to rise. anyway, you're absolutely right....after seeing some of the geometric pieces she's worn for parts of her tour and other appearances since the release, this would seem very much part of her style, indeed.

i recall having seen some of her earlier works on iqons.com and really liked some of it back then... there are some nice pieces in here, especially the draped jersey pieces, but overall it doesn't do it for me... also, why did she decide to show 30 outfits? i wouldn't expect that from a young designer, i'd rather see a more focussed, 'edited' collection with only 20 looks with every piece given enough consideration and depth...

totally agree with Jost here...

She seems to have altered her approach to reflect a more editorial angle, presumably to acquire greater exposure.

In my opinion she should persevere with her original aesthetic from a/w 06 & s/s 07...by far & large the strongest collections that would have buyers expressing interest eventually.

The drape pieces from this collection are reminiscent of earlier lines, the stand-out separates people have highlighted here.

She looked worn out from the photos backstage, far to big a collection for someone with so few accounts.

she seems to lack direction or have a philosophy to use as a platform, something emerging designers desperately need to break into what is a very competitive global market-place.

Yes there is meticulous tailored detail & the romina-esque shoulders, but who is the niche client for this line? I really couldn't say, especially with a high price-point...

too much contradiction...not enough clarity, or is that the idea? doesn't appear to work whatever it is.

needing a philosophy as a platform
that's an interesting idea

i guess it's like goals for the business
who do i want to wear my clothes, what directions do i want to take with design, where do i want my name to go

there really comes something unique to designers who have a 'story' for each of their works. i find it rare to see myself
