Rooney Mara

Both these outifts are simply perfect. It's amazing how well she wears black:wub:

Her stylist has done a really great job of dressing her and she does look great. But it all just feels so hollow to me, like they've said "You've got the edgy haircut & role so lets just make you look the part until your hair grows out or we decide if we're going to do books 2 & 3". She's not owning these looks to me.

I saw the movie over the weekend and think her job in the movie was pretty good, not phenomenal or groundbreaking. I don't know, I just don't think (and this is just my opinion) she really "became" Lisbeth. Remember when Heath Ledger played the Joker? You can tell he completely became that character, even tho I think it was detrimental to him personally. Lisbeth is one of my fave book characters and even tho I liked the movie (both versions) I wish Rooney would have made me love the film version Lisbeth.

Sorry for the long ramble.

Watched the movie today, Rooney is the best.

And I really adore the last outfit.

I loved her in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. She's so talented and I adore her recent style: hair, make-up, clothes. Everything's just perfect. I think I have a girl crush on her atm lol

Rooney Mara insists the white gown she wore to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo premiere was "the first" she tried on.

The actress wowed at the recent world premiere of the eagerly-anticipated film, which was held in London. She portrays computer hacker Lisbeth Salander, who has a punky aesthetic. Rooney ditched the tattoos, piercings and shaved hair for the event and instead opted for a glamorous white Givenchy gown.

"It was the first dress I tried on. I picked it out with the help of a friend," she explained to the British edition of Grazia magazine.

The pal is thought to be stylist Ryan Hastings, who has also worked with Blake Lively.

Although Rooney looked glamorous on the red carpet, her choice of a plain white gown with lace detailing and open back was still edgy.
She explained it will take her a while to leave Lisbeth's look behind completely.

"It was a big transformation process getting into Lisbeth's character. But it's much harder coming out of her style than getting into it. There is still a de-gothing period going on!" she laughed.

Yes, I'm intrigued to find out who designed it. Here's a full length picture:

^ The top of that dress reminds me of some Rodarte designs.

i'm usually not a fan of Rodarte, but my god, that's one beautiful dress. it looks great on Rooney. again. :)

she looks so elegant in the rodarte

that might be one of my favorite looks so far on her...
but her styling overall has been so great that i would rather not choose :p

also, i saw the film last week and loved the casting. rooney was so great and daniel craig was SEXY. so believable that he would be a ladies man... unlike the actor in the swedish film who was not attractive at all.

not a fan of the make-up in the last look. the rodarte dress is gorgeous though
