Well, not all vegans are vegans for health reasons.

In one of her interviews when her veganism came up she mentioned something about not wanting to put stuff in her body that couldn't be digested properly so I got the impression health was at least part of the reason she's vegan.

Edited because I found her quote. It was her interview with Soderbergh in Interview Magazine.

SODERBERGH: Oh . . . Not so interesting. So why don’t you eat normal food?

MARA: By “normal,” do you mean food that has been genetically modified? I try to eat food that hasn’t been washed in ammonia and then packaged in the shape of breaded dinosaurs filled with cheese—even though those are very tasty. I like to eat food that can actually make it through the 20-plus feet of my small intestine.

SODERBERGH: So you’re not vegan because of the senseless, pointless, morally repugnant, environmentally catastrophic practice of animal farming, but because of your little intestine?

MARA: All of those reasons play a role.

well I know a lot of people that are just social smokers, maybe she does what, one once in a while? I don't think it's that bad

It doesn't matter if she a social smoker, her quote about why she's a vegan smacks of hypocrisy. Does she know what's in cigarettes? Arsenic is one tasty in ingredient.

in one of the interviews for Dragon Tattoo (or was it on the blue ray extras? can't remember) she mentioned that she had to smoke in the film but she quit after they finished filming. my guess is she's a social smoker since these are the first candids we saw of her smoking.

I find it contradictory as well but I'm sure there are quite a few vegans and vegetarians out there who smoke

I remember that as well, that's why I was surprised when I found out that she was still smoking. Let's just say that Riccardo probably offered her a cigarette, and you never say no to Mr. Tisci...

Well, I know plenty of vegans that drink and smoke. There is alcohol that doesn't have animal bi-products and cigs don't.

Her bun is so tight in 647 it's giving me a headache and I'm not feeling the swoopy bang thing. I think she needs to let her hair down for air.

LOVE her look at the press conference and the premiere, the only thing I don't like about the second look is the hair style, but as someone else mentioned at least it's different!

The hair is adorable. Reminds me of some of the hairstyles that Marion Cotillard sometimes has on the red carpet.
