Rosie Tupper
Fellow Australians, photographer Jonathan Bookalil and make-up artist Jodie Boland, have been friends and co-collaborators for many years. They recently teamed up for Imagista on what the two do best; create sexy and fresh images that capture the pure beauty of their subject.
Bookalil sat down with Jodie for a quick chat about this collaboartion. "Having known and worked with Jodie, for many years, we are always talking ideas. As brand ambassador for CK One Color Jodie really wanted to create a series of images that would best reflect the new season's line".
"I've been wanting to shoot a beauty/lingerie story on a caramel background to capture a sense of summer after what has been a long winter. That color seemed to be calling me. The timing was perfect as Jodie and were together on another shoot and i proposed the idea to her. She loved it. As luck would have it the following day we were both booked on shoot with the gorgeous Rosie Tupper, not a model everyone is luck enough to work with everyday i might add. Fortunately we some extra time at the end of the day and Rosie was keen to shoot too. It was really that easy". enthuses Bookalil.
"Our concept came from the Nude Collection from CK One Color. It's inspired by sensual, nude skin. Sexy but with restraint and grace. Minimalistic with neutral shades", shares Boland.
"I used our new powder eyeshadow in the grey violet to give that sexy smokey sultry look. It's from our new nude collection from ckone color. We also used the skin illuminator to give that sexy healthy glow on the tops of the cheekbone and our new pure color lipstick in undressed. Then to add the sheen on to the eyelid, I used Lucas' paw paw cream from Australia on top of the eyeshadow. It feels like an appropriate nod to summer too!" said Boland.
"This was a special shoot for all of us" says Bookalil., "along with Stacy Childs doing hair, this was an all Australian team. It was all very fitting", smiles a very pleased Bookalil.
