The Royal Ascot, which takes place since 1711 and sees the presence of almost the whole royal family, is not only the most important horseracing event in the world but a true spectacular and colorful carnival.

Original and eye-catching hats on top of ladies’ heads are a must; [snip]

The Royal Ascot was confirmed once again, in its three-hundredth anniversary, a chance for British high society to meet, among tradition, folklore and style in an idyllic setting.

Princess Beatrice opted for a muted colour palette of beige and black (the chic jacket was by Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti), with a very subdued hat.

Meanwhile her sister, Princess Eugenie, opted for a brilliant pairing of a vibrant, jade lace dress by Issa, with a cream cropped jacket.

Young Australian, Sarah Tucker, joined th\e squadron of saucer-stylists, in a disc hat by Fiona Powell and dress by Wish, both Sydney designers.

Belinda Strudwick in a cream hat by Louis Mariette and ensemble by State of Grace in Notting Hill.

Sophie Ray in hat by Hectic Hat Hire Parsons Green and beige dress by L.K Bennett.

Denise Wyllie in hat by Jane Marcantonio and dress by Stella McCartney.

Deborah Webb in hat by Vivienne Sheriff and violet dress by Gianfranco Ferre.

Ooohh... I love Princess Beatrice's look. So understated and chic compared to everyone else which makes her standout. While crazy fancy hats can be fun to wear sometimes wearing something simple is the best way to be noticed as Princess Beatrice shows.

From telegraph.co.uk:

Hat maker Tracy Rose stands out in one of her outlandish creations, which it seems she was actually the inspiration for: note 'the claw' - a heavily manicured hand which looks like a carbon copy of her arm.

Welsh mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins cuts a stylish figure in this Philip Treacy hat and Azzedine Alaïa dress.

Milliner David Shilling sports the remains of a party on his top hat...

This fine filly isn't just wearing any old hat - this creation by renowned milliner Stephen Jones is worth in the region of a fabulous £8000.
