Sabato De Sarno - Designer, Creative Director of Gucci

We are fully into Cruise, close to Spring Summer drops in stores and we can definitely say that also the Sabato Fall Winter collection is a commercial flop. The Spring Summer collection was a no brainer due to the level of blandness and basicness, but I am surprised the also the winter collection flopped hard too cause it was a huge Improvement in terms of design and aesthetic, especially for the accessories proposals. But apparently the vision was too weak to make someone want to buy the crystal pumps, the horsebit cuissards or the GG Milano bags.
I am expecting the Cruise collection Will be a flop too with the Spring Summer 2025 showing weak signs of commercial success, based on how well was received.

NEW FLOP ALERT!
NEW FLOP ALERT!
New gift campaign, third chapter with...GUESS WHO? Solange and Tina Knowles! Can you name someone more random to become the face of one of the most important and renown brand in the world? What's next, Jeffree Star for Saint Laurent under Cedric Charbit?
Maybe Zanola is a Beyonce fan, so they picked up the second choice due to budget constraints...who on earth is interested in Solange and her mother? NO ONE. Tina's botoxed frozen face definitely fits the Sabato aesthetic, elevated Zara...am I right?

PLEASE LET THIS NIGHTMARE END ASAP!!!

Solange wouldn't be caught dead in that bag.
Same with Kendall and Bad Bunny carrying tacky bright colored Savoy duffles.
These kind of people get crocodile Hermes Hacs or Bottega intrecciato duffles, not canvas monogram with GG...
The disconnection between their ambassadors and the fashion proposition is hilarious honestly, like those influencers who get invited to Miu Miu and CHANEL shows, have their closets full of Hermes but end up doing cheap Instagram adv for Revolve, Liu Jo or Pinko just to grab that cash.

Being out of touch in fashion is beyond absolutely unacceptable. .... Who actually thinks Tina Knowles is anyone in 2024? Only someone who lives in an irrelevant bubble would even think of this person. Irrelevant bubble dwellers have no place in fashion.

Has sabato been anywhere? Its embarassing being this tone deaf in 2024. Its the equivalent of playing with LEGOs in your 30s.

This is the old way of doing things.

I wondered the same...

This makes Vuitton's luggage ad shot in the swiss alps look like Cinema...

What kind of freak would buy Gucci LUGGAGE in 2024... lol, yikes. Just walk over to LV, at the very least.
I am that freak 😅

I mean, I won't, but I would... in an imaginary parallel life where I needed trunks... like in my duke of Windsor alter ego life.

I find this type of piece almost totally useless in the 21st century but with a certain vintage charm.

I also liked the Tom Ford with ostrich feathers video 🤭

Gucci names Francesco Falai head of HR

Gucci continues its senior management reshuffle. The leading label of luxury group Kering has told FashionNetwork.com it has promoted Francesco Falai to the post of chief people officer. He previously held the role of senior vice-president global people, retail and business functions. Falai will succeed current HR head Luca Bozzo on January 1, when Stefano Cantino will take charge of Gucci, replacing Jean-François Palus as CEO.
Francesco Falai - Gucci

Falai has a degree in economics from the University of Florence and has studied at the SDA Bocconi business school in Milan. He started his career at Florentine leather goods producer Pelletteria Fontana, and later moved to Salvatore Ferragamo’s sales department. In 2005, he joined Prada, where he remained for 12 years, rising up the ranks until in 2012 he was named head of HR worldwide for the commercial and retail departments at Prada-owned footwear label Church’s. In 2017, Falai joined Gucci to oversee human resources worldwide for the retail and omnichannel functions, and gradually expanded his remit until the latest promotion.

Like Valérie Leberichel, who recently took charge of global communications at Gucci, Falai has previously crossed paths with the label’s new CEO Cantino, with whom Falai has worked at Prada, where Cantino spent the majority of his business career, between 1997 and 2018.

Falai’s mission in his new role will be “to lead Gucci’s HR strategy, inspiring excellence in execution and encouraging the organisation’s transformation and expansion. Falai will be working with stakeholders across the company to boost the staff’s contribution to the business,” said Gucci.

Falai’s appointment is the latest in a long series at Gucci. Besides promoting Cantino from deputy managing director to CEO, and hiring Leberichel, the label has recently hired other senior executives, like Marcello Mastrogiacomo, as vice-president of digital marketing and media, and Daniela Raganato, as global media director, while in September Davide Buzzoni was named global communications director.

In the summer, Gucci recruited Cayetano Fabry as head of sales. Last year, the label hired Massimo Vian, formerly COO of Prada, appointing him to the newly created post of head of industrial operations and the supply chain.
