Sara Ramirez, the Tony Award-winning
Spamalot star who has become nationally recognized through her role on "Grey's Anatomy," will record a solo album, according to
TVGuide.com.
“All I can say is that
Eric Idle and
John Du Prez, who were the writers of
Spamalot, are writing the album,” said Ramirez, who will record the album during her summer break from "Grey's Anatomy." The actress plays Callie, the spirited wife of George (
T.R. Knight), on the popular ABC primetime drama.
On her future with "Grey's Anatomy," Ramirez is somewhat cryptic: “Am I back next season? Maybe. This character’s just been so much fun to play. Acting with this group of people has been a master class in episodic television. For now, I’m just enjoying the ride.”
