MEET THE V/FORD MODEL SEARCH WINNERS: ELISE AGEE

ELISE AGEE IS ONE OF TWO WINNERS OF THE 2016 V / FORD MODEL SEARCH.
How did you hear about the contest?
EA I first heard about the contest through the Ford Models blog and V’s Instagram.
What were you doing when you found out you made it?
EA When I found out I made it I got a call—I was sitting in my bio-chemistry lecture. I was in the chemistry hall at my university and I started freaking out and everyone was wondering what was going on with me.
Tell me a little bit about your experience at the shoot
EA The shoot in L.A. was amazing! The team was so much fun to work with; everyone was such a pleasure. The styling was amazing. The photography was amazing, working with Gia and Arianne was really an honor. I'm really excited to see how the shoot turns out.
What it is about modeling that interests you?
EA One thing that I love that always keeps me interested is how the modeling industry is constant, but forever changing. It's addicting.
Who are some of your favorite models right now?
EA All time favorite, Kate Moss. She is a legend. And other girls who I love what they are doing right now are Binx Walton and Pyper America. I love them both!
Who are some of your other fashion heroes and brands?
EA I love Chanel; they have always been one of my favorite brands. The Chanel Couture show is my absolute number one dream to walk in! I also love Ralph Lauren; they have been such a staple in the fashion industry, but they always manage to make something new and interesting and keep your attention.
When did you first know you wanted to be a model?
EA I think starting when I was younger and getting the constant comments from people about how tall you are and after you hear it for years and years you're like, alright maybe I should do something about this. So it was actually my mom who was like 'Do you want to go downtown? Do you want to have a day downtown?' And she ended up taking me to an agency and that was when I first got my taste of things.
What are your interests outside of modeling?
EA School is what is taking up the vast majority of my time right now. I am a senior in college. I am studying forensic science, so that is an interest of mine. I really love school. I love to be learning all the time; I think that is very important.
What are you hoping to do with that?
EA I am honestly not sure. My dream job outside of modeling, very different career paths, would be working for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. I would love to work in their explosives unit.
That's so interesting. Why?
EA Like I said, I love to be constantly learning and I love things that are always changing, never the same. And you're never going to go to work and find two explosives that are exactly the same. So that would definitely keep my interest every single day.
Would you ever consider moving to New York?
EA Yes! I will be done with school in May and that’s my plan after that. Ready to get out of Chicago for a little bit!

Honestly, my life has changed drastically since winning the V/Ford Model Search. The day I won coincided with the final week of my studies at university, and days after I was told I would be flying to Paris for a casting with Louis Vuitton for Resort season, which I was lucky enough to book exclusively. From then, I was booked for a second worldwide exclusive, that I just walked today for Spring!
For my second time in Paris, I've been able to relax and enjoy the beautiful history and architecture here, which has been incredible. This whole experience has been the most surreal thing—I can't believe the pace at which things have been happening and the incredible opportunities I have been given, but I'm so ready to see what's next.
