Sergio Hudson F/W 2022.23 New York

I applaud him for actually constructing garments instead of just throwing fabric on the model! That’s a positive. It’s not particularly good or anything, but beggars can’t be choosers.

On the other hand some looks would be perfect for the extras of the next Austin Powers movie, which is not a compliment…

A homeless meth addict's version of 90s Gianni Versace in the beginning but it gets better in the end and descends into a South American rich b!tch named Carmen and I love that ! I will take glamour over the weird dumpy clothes I am seeing all over NYFW any day!

50 looks wasn't necessary. The entire thing could do with a hard edit so that some of the nicer pieces could have had more time to be refined. If this were styled with a cleaner/simpler hair style that wasn't so stuffy, get rid of the stocking and chuck a pair of sunglasses on some of these looks, it honestly would have elevated it more. It needs a colder demeanour.

It is probably a little dated compared to what people prefer now, but there is definitely a market and clientele for this look. But this isn't half bad especially in comparison to what else is going on.

I don’t know why this collection made think of the after dark version of Robin Givens in Boormerang. It’s very Strangé!!

This is tacky on a Christian Siriano type of way. He has a solid casting tho. Too bad the collection isn’t as solid.

I would have reduced this down to about 30-35 solid looks instead of 50 subpar looks.

The colour palette from the first part is suffocating; and it gives a sense of cheapness to all those looks.

Honestly I like lol. It sparks joy. Just looked him up and his collections read to me like he actually enjoys making clothes! As a brand new designer he's way more interesting than Siriano or Maxwell etc. A lot of NY or new designers in general have good ideas with no idea how to execute or just execute vapid sh*t. Cohesive, nice construction, and with my bias of personally wanting to be an extra in an Austin Powers movie I think he did a great job!
