Sometimes life can be unfair and terrible things happen to good people.

I often hear this but I've always seen it in the opposite way. Sharon was an incredible human being blessed with not only remarkable external, but internal beauty, and gained the love and adoration of all those around her. Conversely, Charles Manson was cursed with an upbringing I wouldn't wish on anyone and degenerated into a vile, hateful monster because of it; fate rewarded him the last laugh by letting him outlive the victims who were superior to him. I think life IS fair, but karma just works in some extremely complex, and often cruel and unusual ways to even out the balance in our lives.
