Hello all! This is my first post. I have lurked here for I do not know how long, probably a couple of years. I suppose it is only fitting my first post is a Yay or Nay, because I probably spend as much time on this thread as any.
My taste seem to be wider than most as I visualize that one event with the right outfit and most any pair would be a "definite YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" under the right circumstances.
Like Justine- I think with the leggings and black nail polish those closed heel strappy semi-gladiator style is adorable. However, I do agree the heels are kind of too short to balance with the rest of the shoe mostly the straps around the ankle. I also suspect they are plastic and may look cheap like Fredericks of Hollywood instead of say Bebe for a lack of better references. Bebe's website has some almost the same. Here is a link

I do not know if I can post that link, but I do not know how to post a picture. I do not work for Bebe nor am I trying to advertise for them. My point is for yow to see how the higher heel some how adds a balance to the shoe where your picture does not.
Also, remember closed heel sandals can be kind of tricky especially the Bebe ones because they do not come in whole sizes. They always say if you are a half size go up but the larger size adds width so you foot may slide down out the toe. If you go down the same might happen or scrunch up your toes and hurt after awhile. I would stay away from them unless you could try them on unless they were really inexpensive as it would be a gamble. However, if you were going to someplace like Georgetown a section of Washington, DC that has a lot of college to 30 year olds these lower heels would be great because you have the style, but something you can walk on sidewalks and go bar hopping until 3 am or cannot really walk in heels well or some such. But in general I love that closed heel strappy platform sandal for a lot of reasons especially with leggings.
Stylecide at first I would say definitely Nay, because the heel is kind of low for the platform and the black leather laces too casual for the gold bottoms. As was previously written, "they look long". They are kind of expensive. I think for the price you can do a lot better. Still I can see if you are in New York and going to and art show where there are a bunch of say unknown artists with expensive prints I could sort of see it. Still the problem is the casual laces with the gold heel and the single strap across the toe. They do not seem balanced. Anyway they are very avant garde for sure. To me they are like the first pair I commented on the heel seems s bit low for the rest of the shoe. I think they would maybe be hard to pull of unless this designer makes clothes and these would go with them.
Lamalone I say YAY! to these. They would go with a lot. A great simple outfit is a white T shirt with some purple/black/silver picture/graphic either oversized or fitted, black leggings that reach below the top of the shoe and some silver bangles/earrings. They have the bareness of a slide, but a less "Grease" look. I remember a department store un USA had ones like these that were 1 piece and the outside folded over with a button or some such and they sold out very quickly.
The Sergio Rossi ones are :drool, but I have never seen one of his I did to adore. I almost won a pair on EBay once.
Well that is enough. Thanks!
