Shrimps designer Hannah Weiland presented her first resort collection — and announced that the season will replace spring for the label, known for its faux-fur creations. “For us it made much more sense, as we’re an outerwear brand and it drops in November,” said Weiland of the appeal of resort.
For the collection, Weiland turned to what she called an “ice cream” color palette — she did a full-length faux shearling coat in pistachio, a long shearling waistcoat in pale peach and a double-breasted coat in a deep violet Steiff teddy bear fur. Cute mermaid and flower motifs also popped up in the collection, appliquéd on crisp white shirts and faux-fur handbags or printed onto coats — which Weiland said were inspired by the late artist Henry Darger’s eerie drawings of doll-like children.
