This is probably in the wrong forum. Sorry!

My problem is that I have just bought a great pair of jeans that fit well around the legs and hips and waist but is slightly baggy round the butt. I want to know if there are any tips on how to shrink the jeans to fit.

I remember seeing an old Levi's ad where a guy gets in a bathtub of ice cold water wearing his jeans to shrink them. Does this work? And more importantly, is there an effective alternative?

Soaking the jeans will only have a noticeable effect if they are of raw, aka shrink-to-fit denim.

If they are already washed, you are not going to be able to shrink them further. They may shrink temporarily but they will stretch back out after wearing them for a short time.

Put it on a really hot wash?

I'm thinking about doing that with a jumper that is much too much for me, don't know whether it'll turn out desirable or completely wrecked.

Thanks tangerine and hyeparklover.:flower: I think I'll give it a go. If it doesn't work i'll have a tailor take my jeans in at the waist which should have the desired effect.
