I think trend setting happens by accident, it's not intentional at all - Kate has style, people copy it, I doubt its contrived, you've either got it or you haven't. I doubt that Sienna did either - you can't decide to do that kind of thing, it's a chance thing.

i can't speak for trend setting in london but i have to say there has been a huge change in the manner of which trends are now set among celebrities in north america. in the 90's if you loved a celebrities candid style, more often than not, it was their true style that they were showcasing..but... nowadays, most celebs hire a team to puff them up, get them the goods in clothing and etc.. nicole ritchie is a good example, alot of her candids show her shopping with her stylist, jessica simpson is a great example. so many teenyboppers and even adults running around trying to cop her "style" when in fact it is completely contrived. it's sad really, when you think of it.

But in the same mag there is also a load of photos of kate moss in some of her best outfits and an interview with mary kate olsen about the makeup she uses.
