Sies Marjan S/S 2020 New York

Love the burgundy! That being said... He is definitely a One hit wonder.
The only thing that can save him is being hired as a creative director for a House... maybe Tod’s...
This kinda reminds me of the work of Derek Lam for Tod’s to be honest.

I still don’t get this brand or this designer...

Same here w the burgundy but besides that it’s very old lady and looking at the brands past collections there is literally no connecting thread besides color. It’s like he’s still trying to figure out what Sies Marjan is and after this long if he hasn’t he never is.

Proven one hit wonder for sure.

I actually think it was good and luxurious, at least not pretentiously gimmicky... Couple of trashy dresses, but the rest were really pleasant for me!

In my opinion, this brand has no identity. This time they wanted to achieve some very strange vintage-like feeling with the show but the result was pretty embarrassing. What's more, I feel like there's no connection between the collections, especially this one and their latest "sexy" menswear and that's not a good thing when your brand is relatively new.

I mean relatively new in that he’s done what 8 seasons that most people at any house would have been out of a job by now with the lack of congruency he’s been putting out let alone their poor sales. Their entire site is over 50 off with full size runs. Everyone knows I’m not a fan even when I want to be which tbh I really do because NY needs it.

It’s fair at this far into the game to say this won’t ever get better or consistent for that matter.

Not much for me to hate here. Love the ruched detailing, and the colours help in making this collection look luxe. Looks very easy on the eye and will probably sell well, but i agree that there's not much identity here.

Taking Haider's nip + tuck approach to styling, are we?

Anyways, questionable business practices aside, the coats here look fantastic, esp. in the color choices. But, again, I can't shake the feeling that the dresses really only look good on tall, skinny women once you see it in real life. Did Dries not teach him that this is a big No-No?

And to think...he had the nerve to question dressing Michelle Obama, my First Lady? Fine, Sander. Go dress Melania then.

Ditto. There's a lot of nice stuff here. Truly. But I do think the honeymoon is over. Doesn't have quite the same magic. But you know, even the greatest have off seasons. Still happy to have Sander and the label here in NYC (at least as far as womenswear is concerned).
