Hot on the heels of her appearance at STYLE WEEK JAMAICA, Saint International model Sigail Currie is the buzz among international fashionista as she is now in Paris for the venerable French house of Yves St Laurent (YSL). Sigail was selected by powerful Paris-based designer Stefano Pilati (creative director of YSL) and his team for this special assignment, which ran last week. She previewed the collection during Couture Fashion week in Paris exclusively for magazines such as the Italian, American and French editions of Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, super-rich jet set buyers and a host of others.
Saint's Dewight Peters explained, "Sigail's sleek body lines make her ideal for these high-end fashion/couture clients. She also did a stint for Chanel in New York. Understandably, there is a great buzz on her from New York to London to Milan. We confirmed her for representation in London with Take 2 Models. She is eagerly anticipated there for London Fashion Week in September."
This is Sigail's third high-profile appearance for the legendary French fashion house after last year's appearance at the trunk shows in Manhattan. What is of significance in this case is that for the last Paris assignment she was handpicked by YSL's Pilati who was named among the world's seven most powerful designers by American Vogue.
Iman, Naomi Campbell, Lolou de la Falaise, and other legendary fashion divas have all previously been muses for Yves St. Laurent. He had the distinguishing penchant of using black models for his collections.
"Legendary" is how one New York editor referred to Sigail Currie's first season in New York. She walked a record 10 shows in her first show season in that fashion city.
After uber-stylist Patti Wilson confirmed Sigail for the BabyPhat show and placed her as look number 2 - normally reserved for established stars - the industry quickly took note that a star was born. Indeed, this was further confirmed when the same stylist confirmed Sigail for the highly selective, celebrity-filled Heatherette show in which Sigail was one of only three black girls (including supermodel Naomi Campbell who hugged her backstage and told her how fantastic she was on stage).
Also among her 10 shows was Todd Smith. The latter presentation was by Rap superstar LL Cool J, who launched his eponymous line during the high-profile week in the fashion capital.
A few weeks into her signing she landed on the cover of the French Profil magazine. Sigail also landed the cover of UK's Black Hair magazine which she shot after STYLE WEEK '05.
Sigail returns to Jamaica to participate in Saint International's new reality series, Model Icon, later this month.

Celebrity model Sigail Currie, selected by Creative Director of Yves St Laurent (YSL), has previewed the collection of YSL for the leading magazines such as Vougue, Harper’s Bazaar etc during Fashion week in Paris.

Earlier Sigail had also worked for Chanel in New York, and now she is very well-known in fashion world.

Last year also she appeared in high-profile trunk show in Manhattan.

Ever since Sigail catwalked in record 10 shows in fashion city during her first show season, she has become the face of fashion.
