The Designers: Croatian-born Aleksandar Stanic and British-born Fiona Sinha met while studying at Central St Martin’s and formed their company in 2004. They were highly acclaimed runners up in the first Fashion Fringe initiative and were immediately signed by the prestigious luxury Italian group Aeffe for a four year contract for sales, production and distribution. Their stockist line-up is growing gratifyingly fast.
The Collections: Their clothes are beautifully cut with an easy sophistication that is entirely modern and relaxed. This season their main collection will be based on longer, looser, draped silhouettes with an almost ‘grungey’ look. They are also launching a new collection of jersey dresses called ‘Sinha-Stanic Stretch’ at much lower price points that will be available three times a year.
The News: They have won the BFC Fashion Forward awards sponsored by Westfield London for the second time and were nominated in the Best New Designer category at the 2005 and 2006 British Fashion Awards.
Instant View: In over 40 stores world-wide including Harvey Nichols in London, Manchester and Leeds; Barneys in New York; Ikram in Chicago; Divine Girls in San Francisco; Milk in LA; George & Lisa in Toronto; L’Eclairer in Paris; Nordstrom throughout the USA; Dantone and Tad in Milan; Princess in Antwerp; Opium in Russia; Posh in Istanbul; Jean Pierre Bua in Barcelona; Lot 29 in Copenhagen; Lotte in Seoul.
