I went to the taping for SYTYCD today & it was so great! I know this is going to be a great season because there were so many fabulous dancers!!

I'm so suprised that this thread don't have more posts?! I love the show and season 7 is AMAZING. Gosh, so many good dancers. Specially the guys this year are incredible. Alex and Kent are my favs so far.

I think anyone getting to dance with Pasha or Anya has a huge benefit.

I am so upset that Alex had to leave due to injury. His hip-hop was sooooo good.

To be frank I feel like this season is hardly worth watching anymore.

^ I know!! I actually started to cry when they said that he had to go. He was absolutely the best. I hope he will be even more amazing next season and win the whole thing.

so my favourite routines from this season are:



I'm getting a bit tired of some of the contemporary routines and their random jerky moves

I've refused to continue watching this season after the got rid of Iveta and Nick. Once they left the remaining 8 girls were all jazz or contemporary and I personally can't tell the difference between the two. The men were then left with five jazz or contemporary dancers and 3 hip-hop dancers.

The lack of variety just bores to to death. Also the judges seemed to always let contemporary dances off when the can't do a watered down routine that isn't their style yet dancers of other styles get a lot negative feedback. Its a wonder that anyone outside of contemporary even auditions for this show especially ballroom dancers.

Sorry 'bout the rant but Iveta was the best thing that happened for ballroom on this show and my favourite routine was her paired up with Pasha.

On a side note I've always loved Jason Gilkison's routines. I wish the generally did more ballroom group routines. The group routines are pretty if not always contemporary, jazz, broadway or hip-hop. I remember he did a good one on SYTYCD Aus. and also a really good Samba? number with Henry and Vanessa.
