She looks so pretty! I  how she did her hair.
Her outfit is a modified Anamika Khanna from her fall 09 collection.

That L'oreal ad is gorgeous!

Thanks for posting the Marie Claire scans!!

Ah ha! I thought it was Anamika Khanna....i wonder if the envelope clutch is from her collection as well, because it reminds me of the one she carried to her show at LFW.

I can't wait to see the video version for this ad:woot: It must be for a lipstick....

That's how you do the harem pants look right, let me just say.

Sonam on red carpet with Ash

Guess who’s walking the red carpet at Cannes alongside the likes of Hollywood beauties Penelope Cruz and Eva Longoria, and Bollywood’s own Aishwarya Bachchan, as the face of a major international cosmetic giant?

The tall and lissome star of Saawariya and Delhi 6 — Sonam Kapoor, that’s who! She’s excited, naturally, as any young actress would be on her first trip to France and that too for an assignment at the prestigious international film festival with such big names. “Being on the same platform as Aishwarya, for me, is a big deal in itself,” gushed Sonam. “I have always adored her but met her only once, during the Delhi 6 premiere.”

Dad Anil Kapoor, who’s been riding a high ever since Slumdog Millionaire swept the Oscars and Golden Globes, will join Sonam at Cannes. “Dad will be my date on the two nights that I’ll be there,” the daughter giggled, “I will walk with him, it will be so beautiful.”

She’s unperturbed by the fact that being on the red carpet will mean coming under the glare of the paparazzi and fashionistas at the French cinema capital. “I’m aware,” she said, “and I’m confident I’ll carry off the Indian outfits I’m taking there by Anamika, Manish and Gaurav with ease. I’ll also be dressed by an international designer for one event.”

She’s looking forward to catching up on some good world cinema, during her short trip to Cannes. And to France, itself. “I’ve never been to Paris or any other part of France, except through books. I used to transport myself to these lovely destinations through my reading. It’s a dream come true for me,” said the actress who was just a gawky teenager working as an assistant to Sanjay Leela Bhansali when Ash walked the red carpet at the Cannes for the first time a few years ago.

So she's there for two of the nights! Chanel must be the international brand that's dressing her then...well following from what FilmFare are saying anyway.

That's really cool that she's going to be wearing Indian outfits, i hope she picks the right ones though! Everyone seems to either love or hate Anamika's stuff.....i hope Manish's not too OTT and im not really sure about Gaurav Gupta's pieces.

Some of Gaurav Gupta's pieces are beautiful - like the dress Deepika wore on the L'Officiel cover. I just don't know how it'll look on the red carpet. I glanced at the pics from his latest runway show. Nothing really stood out - I didn't see any 'red carpet-worthy creation' but maybe an original piece is being designed specifically for Sonam to wear @ Cannes.

90% of Manish Malhotra's designs are OTT, but I can't see Sonam in anything too gaudy. I'm hoping she'll wear a sari!

Re: Anamika's designs - the only Anamika piece that she wore that I really didn't like was that gold number to the Delhi 6 premiere in Delhi. She's been able to pull off everything else.

I'm really excited to see what she's going to wear!! Smart of her to go with her dad. She'll be able to network with so many filmmakers, producers, casting directors, etc. that her dad met during awards season/promotions for Slumdog.

^Gorgeous! Short hair really suits her!

I think the second pic was used for a Filmfare cover a little while ago...

I'm bummed that she's not going to be at Cannes-she would have kicked butt and taken names in the style department.

I can't believe they cancelled her trip. I was really looking forward to seeing her there, especially since she was planning to take some Indian outfits with her as well.

I feel so bad for Sonam! What could be more high profile than Cannes? I can't believe L'Oreal jipped her like that. Not professional on their part either.

The Indian designers that were going to dress her must be disappointed too. They would have received some press from this.

I wonder if Anil Kapoor will still be going? Part of me hopes that she'll go as her father's date!

Why do I feel Aishwarya had something to do with this? Just a suspicion.

Anyway, sucks that we won't get to see Sonam looking fabulous at Cannes.:(
