Now this is what I call a nice surprise ... I had zero expectations of this line, and looky here ...

I'm particularly fond of the heavy knit/crocheted/? lace skirt (and other lace) worn so casually ...

Love that crocheted skirt! It seems to have a forest-inspired theme, very fantatastical. Love the scarves also.

Its ok....not my style but I do like the fact that Tanya is makin it big :D

i love sportmax..just love it!

still haven't gotten over their jersey though, would have loved to see what they have to say about it now...
..peculiar how they got into wools and knitwear

This all does seem to owe more than a bit to MJ, but still ...

I have to disagree:blush: .. if this was the season of 07/08 I would agree but I don't think that they could have followed MJ's collection when making these pieces since they're in the same season.. they just happened to go the same path

but I agree with you that it looks like MJ only MJ's is like 'sportmax gone bad'

^ Well, thought I'd voice that "concern" before anyone else did :p ;)

I agree that they can't redo their whole collection in a month. However, some of the shapes are similar to what MJ did for spring and carried through for fall. Some of the styling seems a bit similar to his show a few weeks ago. This is the kinda thing that could be reflected overnite ... However, I certainly don't have any religious attachment to this view. I am always arguing that certain things are "in the air," and it could be that that alone explains the similarities.

I thought it was a bit unfair for Cathy Horyn to criticize Prada for being similar to MJ. First off, this is a lot more similar than Prada was (to my eyes anyway), and MJ doesn't "own" urban. It does seem to be one of the season's important trends. In the case of Sportmax, we're seeing similar colors and shapes in the furthest thing from an urban setting ;) I do really like the woodland theme ... it's kinda like fairies layering their lacy dresses for cold weather ... It all has a really Austrian/German look to it ...

PS I called the Max Mara store, and they don't know yet what they'll be getting, but apparently only 3 stores in the US get everything on the runway. Interesting ...

i dressed Vlada at this show *_* she's so cute and most of all she's outgoing to be russian (her russian accent was very marked when she talked to me in english, though :D ) anyway, it was incredible to be there! The clothes were amazing.

i am afraid i don't care for this much...
and i have really been liking sportmax lately...
so rather a disappointment for me...

:(
