    Interesting article HERE :-

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/g2/story/0,3604,1241510,00.html

Is EVERY stylish fashion ' capital ' , destined to end up ' downmarket ' and as decadent as St Trop is described here ? :yuk:

Is it a sign of our times ? B)

I REALLY think it is !!!!

    Opinions , please !!!

    KIT :innocent:

Excuse me while I vomit :yuk:

"But rolling in to spoil this minimal, almost Zen-like calm is the clientele." This is exactly what I always say, there are so many things of beauty that people uglify.

Where is St Tropez...somewhere in France???

EDIT: Oh, wait...I've read the article and it is. I've never heard of it but it sounds pretty awful.

St. Tropez... too bad that getaways and vacations have to be associated so much with personal image.

I probably wouldn't fit in there, but I'd certainly still love to see it. Sounds like a carbon copy of southern California, to me!

That article is sad. Just show how money can make people act so stupid. And those people mention in the article can be categorized in one group only LABEL WHORES. I wouldn't be suprised if they had a couple of ice cube trays from Gucci to match their Gucci refridgerator

oh no, my Dad is tacky

In the summer he always goes there with his polo buddies and hangs out on the yachts.

I also enjoy going once in a while but I'm not like the rest of the people. I'm not a label whore. The majority time I'm there I'm in my bikini swimming or tanning.

Interesting. I just thought it was something great because rappers can't stop talking about it and Bridget Bardot was famous for vacationing there, right?

I don't get this author's damage with good decadent fun. If Alex Gordon doesn't like the people there I'm sure the vacationers aren't all that concerned with that. Sounds like a fun place and I'm putting it on my list of places to visit.

Sad. The epitome of label addiction in our society. And I thought my high school was like that just because everyone was young and insecure about their place in the world.
