An exercise in styling.
the construction throughout is sloppy. Starting with the opening looks. Those knit medallion pieces that are sewn together is such a mess. the tension is not even throughtout the material -some of the medallions are stretched out while others have ease. A mess.

Mizrahi and a touch of Oldham with horrible construction. And the worst blues.
Those skirts are absolutely dreadful. The abrupt centre front seam with the lining STILL not being short enough to balloon the hem successfully so it is seen too easily. Then there's the skirt in look 40 with the orange line where it's probably been dragged against something. Look 38 with the neck brace for a collar. Absolutely pitiful.

It's kind of proportional too, no? NYFW was always trailing behind the other cities when things were okay so it makes sense that if the others took a dive (PFW is now inferior than NYFW's output in, say, 2007), NYFW is now as relevant as a junkyard.
Some things never change though, the castings are so awfully directionless and at the same time, so NY in that 'desperately clicking every existing button hoping I click the right one'.. they'll get the professional-looking models, the ones that may actually land decent gigs in Milan or Paris, the insane amount of performative s*it, and inexplicable stunts like this that remind you not much has happened for the industry in this city between this show and the heyday of Imitation of Christ. Again, it's all kind of fraudulent.. trying to cover up with a couple of fingers the fact that no one is really there as a result of some exceptional talent that merits a presentation or any platform of any kind.
