Stella McCartney for Target Australia

While I still think it's fantastic that Stella is producing a line for Aussie Target, those pictures don't really set me on fire. They seem a little ambitious for the Australian climate...

Full imagery will be released on March 5th so we'll have to see how appropriate it is for the Australian climate. I'm a bit worried about trench coats. Does anyone in Australia even own a trenchcoat? It's definately not a Australian fashion staple but will it will be interesting to see how the Stella collection will take off and hopefully it will be of better quality than Alice McCalls's collection.
Also, for the trendy fashionistas who think they are the *only* ones that know who Stella is and all the regular Target shoppers don't have a clue, think again. When you go to the cash register at Target and flick through NW and Who Weekly etc who's picture do you see? Stella hobnobbing with the celebs.

In Melbourne the women wear trench coats - it gets cold here every other week!

In today's Herald Sun newspaper there was a little blurb saying that Kate Moss, Gwenyth Paltrow and Cate Blanchett - Stella's high-profile friends - have asked Stella for all 42 pieces from the collection and will be recieving them before the rest of us!!!

I'm in Sydney and I live in trech coats in winter because it's easier to layer than wear a winter coat that may be too hot. Amazingly, it does get cold here in winter (not European temperatures but cold enough) so I do wear winter gear and a trench coat is usally the mainstay. I don't think I'm alone in this.

I have picked out my top 5 looks... which happens to include the same pieces of clothing. haha. But I do love the tailored pants and jackets. I think I might have to go down to Target and check them out first thing for quality and stuff before buying them.

Shame my local target is going to be full of teenies who should be in their expensive private schools.

and the jacket for AUSD 199 comes in two colors as well!

it's quite expensive for target- Stella McCartney and all- if it's as bad as the McCall stuff then it won't sell out any time soon. Some of the tops look nice, but i agree it's ambitious for the weather here, it doesn't get that cold, even in Melbourne. I live in Sydney and I think I'd probaly wear a coat a couple of weeks during winter if that. This is aimed towards a more European or even Nordic Market!
