They’re Back

If you’ve got stripes, you’re going to want to show them! Stripes are back this year for Spring. No surprise! The crisp, classic look is a welcome change from the wool of winter.

Modern Stripes

To freshen up old stripes, pair them with a vibrant color like yellow. It can’t be a gold yellow, it should be a BRIGHT yellow.

Sexy Stripes

Brigitte Bardot made her stripes sexy. As you can see, you don’t have to be a prep to wear stripes. If you put the look together like Bardot, you achieve a mysterious look. Make sure your top is more fitted, make your hair seductive, giant sunglasses, and skinny jeans. OH, don’t forget your push-up bra.

Feminine Stripes

This is an easy look to pull off. You’ll be able to put it to work all Summer long. You’ll feel confident wearing it to work, and comfortable wearing it on the weekends.

Classic Stripes

Think Nantucket, or Martha’s Vineyard. This style is more relaxed. It actually lends itself to the boyfriend trend, because it should fit like you’re wearing you’re boyfriend’s shirt. You’re throwing it on over white jeans with Jack Rogers, and Ray bans.

go frida!...
...

i love how you interpreted pintucks as stripes...
at first i was like...hey, that's not a stripe!....
:ermm:

but, then, as i kept scrolling through...
i began to think, it's interesting and modern to take a step back and include various interpretations of this idea...
stripes is such a broad adjective...
it really allows for so many interpretations...

excellent thread!...

:heart::heart::heart:

here, we see a classic being reinvented...
nice!...

i just had a thought...

DECONSTRUCTED stripes...
i like how there is an example here of the classic striped top ...
(which has been prevalent for summer and fall 2010)...
it allows us to see where this trend is coming from...

you can actually see the inspiration and how it lead to this next incarnation...

how cool is that?!?...
i LOVE this thread!...

:bounce:

I love stripes and its so neat to see them so prevalent in recent fashion collections! Some of the looks I initially did not think they were part of the stripe trend but then the more I thought about it they really were! This such an amazing tread, I can't wait to see what else is shown on here!

I saw the thread title and first thought it was the name of a company/designer . He-he. "What a great name" was my first reaction.
