Sukeina S/S 2023 New York

I’ve liked his work in the past but this is not for me…jodhpurs are already a risky proposition and all those origami folds just help in making them more ridiculous.

The net dresses with fringe embroidery are nice but when you add flounces on top of it, it’s just too much. The simpler pieces are the best, even if they lack his unique sense for construction.

The proportions have gone berserk here. I only like that red vest...but you sure have to tone it down, otherwise is not going to work (like in this case, with those horrible jodhpurs).

The colour palette is so limited (red and white only...wtf??). And it gives the whole collection a "Xmas Santa Claus limited edition" feel that is totally out of touch for a spring/summer collection.

I can’t fully appreciate the technical skill some of these pieces require because of the intense post production this look book has been subjected to.

All I can say is too much red, too many awkwardly placed frills and too many variants of the near exact same thing.

As weird as the proportions are and as limited as his vision for color was this season, I do find it sad that Vogue and the other major NY based publications would rather focus on TOMMY HILIFER NOW vs. this very, very talented designer. I understand he operates a small business, but he has produced such beautiful pieces it is a shame he is so underappreciated. Look 2 is incredible, that piece may very well be shown at the MET. But look 3 is, interesting to say the least….
