A Model Life- Interview

What is your capital city?
Due to my job I'm currently resident abroad, constantly travelling. I'm grateful to have this opportunity, because as S. Augustine said: "The world is a book, and those who do not travel, read only one page." The capital city of my homecountry Germany is Berlin- from a historical viewpoint a very interesting city, but also fascinating for everyone interested in fashion&arts: The 5th Berlin Fashion Week was just held from 1-4 July, the city is known for its trendy vintage shops and art galleries. My culinary tip: Try a "Currywurst" and pamper yourself with a "Schnitzel", the best ones serves "Borchardt Berlin", Franzoesische Strasse 47, 10117 Berlin

Who is your favourite designer?
What makes a good designer is his/her passion and dedication for fashion- certainly those are the attributes which mark a good model too, you easily see this if you take a closer look at her facial expressions and eyes. Dedication and passion are the key to success. Fashion is a permanent revolution, a neverending search for the new, the improved or the opposite of what was in vogue last season. It's about change and has relevance to much more than just the clothes we wear- fashion has to do with illusion, creativity, boosting our confidence, defining our identity, providing us with the fantasies that feed our dreams- this is what makes the fashion business so fascinating. Fashion is inextricably linked with Arts- which dates back at least to the Renaissance. Many artistic movements have been assimilated into fashion- for example Rococo and Neo- Classicism, Romanticism, Impressionism, Art Noveau and Art Deco, Fauvism and Cubism, Surrealism, 20th Century Threads (with the inclusion of Pop Art and Op Art) to name only a few...Considering the large variety of highly talented designers (including many unknown ones), choosing one favourite designer is rather difficult for me. In general I prefer feminine, classic, extravagant, timeless collections with a dash of exotic and vintage. However, being born on September 10, same- day like Karl Lagerfeld, I might feel slightly affiliated to Karl Lagerfeld.

Who are your Top 5 Models?
A truly stellar model can stand for the attitude of her time, becoming more than a muse to a photographer or designer- she can become the muse of a whole generation. In general I fancy a special type of model: A distinctive classic beauty, full of character and emotions and a professional work attitude. As a quote says, "It's beauty which captures your attention, but personality which captures your heart."! I can't name my top five, but some names immediately coming to my mind are: Claudia Schiffer, Bianca Balti, Kate Moss, Tanya Dziahileva and Coco Rocha.

Item you can't live without?
My digital camera to capture precious moments, my notebook to write down quotes and thoughts...

Why do you blog?
My purpose is to inspire my readers and give them a little backstage insight about a model's life...

Ever wanted to know what it's like to be an international supermodel?

Well we can through the eyes of German model, Sussan Zeck who takes us along with her to photoshoots and runways.

A Model Life is our pass to the backrooms of designers and their catwalk shows, a place dotted with beautiful girls waiting and waiting and inspirational placards that read, 'No Girls On The Runway If They Haven't Eaten Before!'

Check out the musings and snaps of Miss Zeck at: http://www.sussan-zeck.com"
