    I know i've seen more...

I don't think this will be a huge trend.. at least I hope it doesn't become one...
just noticed it enough that i thought it was worth a thread...

    why? why? why?
I mean, it looks okay if you're 6'0 tall but otherwise it is just sooo sloppy.
If this trend disapeared tomorrow I would not be devestated in the least....

    great spotting as usual<3

but have to agree with knockturnal,

I only like if it's a sweatshirt.. sweatpants however looks way to sloppy

i agree.. i don't think (or at least i hope) that this will not catch on too much...

but at least if you are going to wear sweatpants these look a bit more streamlined and dare i say socially acceptable?, than something like a juicy tracksuit...

i find it interesting that a lot of these sweatpants are being styled not as loungewear but as actual outfits.. if that makes sense...
where people would have been wearing regular cropped pants or jeans, these runway looks are being shown with sweatpants

from the movie "Forgetting Sarah Marshall"

Peter Bretter: Oh, if they were Sean Jean sweatpants it would be no problem, but because they were Costco brand, it's the worst thing I could do.

Rag & Bone seems to have had one of the best looking SS 10 collections I've seen yet. Good colors, clean lines but still creative, and actually look comfortable.

Isabel Marant has them for at least two seasons already and styled as part of a normal outfit. I have a pair from Isabel and they are my favourite trousers. No kidding.

I have the Isabel Marant ones, too. In my opinion, they look great if styled properly. I often wear mine similarly to the woman in Garance Dore's photograph...

...with a blazer, t-shirt and ankle boots. I also like to pair a structured, ladylike bag with them, because I think it helps counteract their sloppiness factor.

the problem with sweatpants is that they can look cool on the right girl with the right styling and the right attitude but there is such of a fine line before the look ends up getting sloppy...

i think the girl in the garance dore shot looks good and some of the runway looks are working for me too...
structure on top with a blazer definitely dresses the look up a bit...
you need that contrast i think...

:woot: Brilliant trend spotting, Chrissy!. I definitely think we'll be seeing a lot more of sweatpants as the rest of the shows unfold.

I saw some at Opening Ceremony the other day, They were gray, inside out and splattered with paint...for a gazillion dollars. Pretty easy DIY!
