This is all I could find...they changed from Gwand to Stella fashion awards.

“Stella Contemporary Fashion Awards” 2005
26th November 2005in Lucerne

The Swiss Textiles Association and Switzerland’s biggest women’s magazine annabelle are
jointly launching a new Swiss fashion platform, the “Stella Contemporary Fashion Awards”, www.stella-fashionawards.ch. With this exclusive and international backdrop, the “Swiss Textile Award” will be handed over for the sixth time on the catwalk on
Saturday, 26th November 2005in Lucerne’s Hotel Schweizerhof. Six international designers are competing for the renowned fashion prize worth Euro 100’000. On that same evening, Wolfgang Joop will also be giving the “annabelle Award” to one talented Swiss newcomer to the industry. The prize-winner of the Swiss Federal Design Competition will also be showcasing her winning collection. Due to limited space at this year’s venue, no tickets are available. Anyone interested can however watch the show live in the Stella-Fashionbar set up on the Hotel Schweizerhof’s terrace. The show will be broadcast on a big screen. The after-show party will be held in the Casineum, Lucerne’s Grand Casino.

In the past, the bestowing of the “Swiss Textile Award” and “annabelle Award” were part of the Gwand Fashion Festival. However, since the Gwand Foundation has now been dissolved due to debt problems, the Fashion Festival has been cancelled. In order not to neglect the promotion of talented newcomers, but rather to consistently support their progress, the Swiss Textiles Association and annabelle have decided to launch their own fashion platform – independently of Gwand – and to award their prizes there.

“Stella – the rising star. Stella – the central star that shines brightly for all to see. Stella – the discovery of talented new designers who are assisted and supported on their way to joining the international fashion elite”. These are the principles behind the “Stella Contemporary Fashion Awards” fashion platform. The aim is to support and promote talented new designers. The venue for the first “Stella Contemporary Fashion Awards”, being held on Saturday, 26th November 2005, is the exclusive Hotel Schweizerhof in Lucerne.

Swiss Textile Award 2005
The world’s biggest fashion prize, the “Swiss Textile Award”, is now being awarded for the sixth time to one talented new designer. The prize money is now Euro 100’000. The sum is not paid to the winner in cash, but is instead given in the form of substantial support through actual services, such as PR work, show production, etc. The six finalists were selected through a nomination process by well-known figures from the national and international fashion industry.

On the evening of the awards, the finalists will unveil their latest collections to the international panel of judges and national and international press. The panel of judges will decide the winner that very evening. Assessment criteria include creativity and innovativeness, marketability and the collection’s commercial potential.

annabelle Award 2005
The annabelle Award includes a one-year internship with a famous international designer. This is the second time that the annabelle Award is being conferred. annabelle meets the costs of the internship and pays monthly pocket money, thereby giving talented young Swiss designers the opportunity to start out on the international fashion scene. This year, the award will be handed over by German designer Wolfgang Joop. The winner will be allowed to work on Wolfgang Joop’s “Wunderkind” team in Berlin next year.

Attractive programme of events
The show includes the latest collection from the 2004 winner of the “Swiss Textile Award”, Haider Ackermann, plus the collection from the prize-winner of the 2005 Swiss Federal Design Competition, Corina Gonzales-Torres, an undergraduate in fashion design at the University of Arts and Design in Basle. Due to limited space at this year’s venue, no tickets will be going on sale. Anyone interested can however watch the show live in the Stella-Fashionbar set up on the Hotel Schweizerhof’s terrace. The show will be broadcast on a giant screen. Afterwards, there will be the opportunity to dance the night away at the after-show party in the Casineum, Lucerne’s Grand Casino. Guests can look forward to an exclusive DJ line-up: DJs Malente (Moonboutique rec., Germany), Gogo, Dani König, Le Noir, Christo &Ramin, Ivan R. Dance Animation: Tacio&Friends. Admission to the after-show party costs CHF 25.--.

I hope they give it to Christian Wijnants or Charles Anastase, even though Undercover is my favorite out of the 6 they don't really seem to need money.

I saw one outfit from David Szeto , it seemed nice, but I haven't seen anything ells.

BELGIAN designer Christian Wijnants beat Giles Deacon, Undercover, David Szeto and Charles Anastase to win the most lucrative prize in fashion on Saturday night. The annual Swiss Textiles Award, worth 100,000 Euros to the winner, brought together esteemed figures from the fashion world at a glittering ceremony in Lucerne, Switzerland, to find a new design star. "It's amazing, I don't know what to say, I'm so surprised," spluttered Wijnants as he accepted the award from last year's winner, Haider Ackermann. "I can really use this prize." Swiss Textiles, which also awards the runners up with 10,000 Euros-worth of fabric each to use in their future collections, pays invoices as they come in from the winner, rather than parting with the cash. "It was an amazing prize to win and it's been an amazing year," said Ackermann. "But I wish they had given it in cash," he joked. "I could do with a holiday." Having been nominated by a panel including Suzy Menkes, Julie Gilhart and Suzanne Tide-Frater, the finalist were voted for by a jury after showing off their latest collection on a gold glitter-scattered catwalk in the stunningly romantic setting of the Hotel Schweizerhof on the edge of Lake Lucerne. And despite the magnificent competition from Deacon, whose collection had the audience applauding throughout, we couldn't help but back newcomer (and ex-assistant to both Dries Van Noten and Raf Simons), Wijnants, whose cleverly tasselled dresses and clean cut patchworks definitely have the making of a star. "I'm just glad that I make clothes that don't only look good on the catwalk ," he says of his own design aesthetic. "I really like it that my mother, my sisters and my friends can all wear them." Yeaaaa! He deserved it too. Funny, too,as I can't seem to get over the fact that for three years in a row, now, since I started paying attention to the Award....all are and have been Belgian.

Btw,this new collection of Christian is utterly the most beautiful I've seen from him since his A/W 03.

Yey so glad he won!
Hopefully he will get more deserved attention now.
