FOR a country girl, its the dream way of earning a crust.
Just two weeks ago teenager Sydney Barber had a headful of pink dreadlocks and was selling pizza from a van at the local Dubbo show.
Now she has been transformed into a brunette bombshell and is eyeing the catwalks of the New York fashion shows.
Ms Barber was spotted at the show by model manager Simone Hellicar while she was on her lunch break.
Ms Hellicar wasted no time signing the 17-year-old beauty to top modelling agency IMG, and she was flown to Sydney for a three-day makeover with a team of professionals.
She will be in Sydney this week to meet editors at Elle magazine, along with top photographers Georges Antoni and Steven Chee, who often shoot for Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.
Industry insiders are comparing her to superstar Aussie model Abbey Lee Kershaw.

Since being discovered she has posed in three test shoots that will be used in her online portfolio.
The young sewing enthusiast can’t believe how quickly her life is changing. She said: “It‘s overwhelming but I am an eager learner and want to travel and be in Vogue magazine one day,” she said.
“I learn quickly so I’m happy to take on all the opportunities. I’m already learning about how to pose and connect with the camera.”
IMG model manager Simone Hellicar will fast-track Sydney’s catwalk training so she can attend castings for New York fashion week.
“It’s initial stages but I would like to prepare her for castings,” she said. “We will give her enough experience so she can start making money and prepare for an overseas trip.”
Models working on international ad campaigns can earn six-figure sums.
“Her light blue and green eyes are very expressive and she’s a natural mover, which are things photographers are going to love about her,” Ms Hellicar said.
“She never thought she could be a model and I think the best girls are those who don’t realise how beautiful they are.”
Ms Barber’s pizza days certainly appear to be over.
“I do love pizza but have turned off it since serving so many bacon and egg pizzas to customers,” she said.
“Unless it’s from Pizza Hut I don’t think I can eat it anymore, and now I’m modelling it will be in moderation.”
