Is this magazine still doing fashion? I don’t see anything in ages

The black and white cover is really strong, one of the best she’s delivered, for me.

^But the hair. I find the bangs to be very distracting. Looks like an ill-fitting wig. Never heard of this s hair stylist before

Stylistically, print fashion right now is such a blur. This would be both a Vogue, ID, M Le Monde shoot, and wondering if that's a good thing or not?

The bnw pics are nice the rest look like Terry Richardson

Even Luis Alberto Rodriguez cannot save her.

Enjoyed this issue. 160 pages. The editor tried to make some lame analogy about how Dua is so refreshing because nowadays pop stars are also models, designers, stylists and that's so novel. Of course forgetting that Jennifer Lopez was both a pop star and a businesswoman way back. Rest of the content includes some beautifully written design pieces, an article about 'Bay Gays' - film and tv characters portraying gay characters as villains and they reference Ryan Murphy's upcoming Capote series, and The Talented Mr Ripley remake. But thankfully there's a reference to Vito Russo's epic book, the Celluloid Closet which formed the cornerstone of a scholarly take on homophobia in film. Plus there's a story about Black contemporary artists who insist that galleries only sell their work to Black collectors/clients and although NYT tried to get a different opinion it pretty much comes down to 'is what it is'.

She's having the same attention that Gaga and Rihanna had in their careers ten years ago and more. But her print work insn't in the same line as those two that made beautiful covers, campaigns and editorials. This one is an exception though, looks decent.

Wat is this hunni. The bar is low. miu Miu is spending a fortune spreading their underwear around the world. I literallt dont know the logic behind this.

i dont know why a shoot so brief has more than one visual language. The whole shoot shouldve been black and white chiaroscuro. It seems a miss to not have more textured looks to further the light play.

Eh comparing her to Rihanna - who had styling in a choke hold for a decade is a stretch. Dua has always been in the moment. Rihanna was always ahead of the moment. Its easier to be in the moment since everything is already picked and edited for you. Being ahead requires a more discerning eye. I saw Dua on tour - she was wearing that balenciaga bodysuit like it was the hottest thing in paris. Despite being super dated. That is like when someone gets a little money and buys a Speedy. Low level aspirational.

lady gaga isnt even in that conversation. Nobody wanted to dress like her except maybe the glasses from the paparazzi video and the hair bow. Which Sia then made her signature look.

I can't wait to see this editorial, Grace is beautiful, a great model and one of my favorites... I haven't seen her in a while!
