I'm due a subscription copy that hasn't arrived yet, so here's an image from ebay.co.uk... more details when I get hold of the actual issue.

It seems there's also an interview with Carla Bruni in this issue. Taken from vogue.co.uk:

"YOU don't give up on modelling," Carla Bruni told Tatler this month. "They give you up. You hit 30, they give you up." As she launches her second music album (the first has sold an impressive two million copies since its 2003 release), the former supermodel spoke candidly about her experiences in the fashion industry and how she felt about being "given up" by it. "I was not sorry - I was exhausted. Also, they have to change. The designers need inspiration and new faces to work with, a new generation. Someone like Kate Moss is special because she is an extraordinary type of model - there is only one every 20 years at her level. I don't want to demystify modelling, but I mean it is really easy. The hardest problem is dealing with a hat or scarf," she laughed.

Commenting on the current size zero debate, Bruni was quick to point out the difference, in her opinion, between models then and models now: "We were not so thin. It was different, we were women". Having quit the industry over a decade ago in 1995, Bruni reminisced about her career highs and lows as one of the first ever "supers" along with Elle, Claudia, Naomi and Christy. "I always said to Karl [Lagerfeld], 'why don't you ever make me the bride at the end of your show?' and he replied, 'because you don't look like a virgin!' I was very lucky though - I never had any catastrophes on the catwalk. The only pressure was not to break a heel. I do remember when we were doing the couture at the Paris Ritz and they had the catwalk on the swimming pool. I was going down and my heel broke. I nearly went in but I managed to stay upright!" Wow, this is a lovely cover, Elle is still so good looking and I'd love to see the entire Carla Bruni interview as I really admire her as a singer/composer.

:woot:

What a beautiful cover! Elle looks better than ever. ^_^
